Chapter 7 Finding A New Place To Stay

• She immediately called her grandfather and he said, "that was fast, were you already close to the hotel? I was not thinking that you will call me so soon."
• Faith said, "not really grandpa, I just received a phone call from the company that was interviewing me today."
• Grandpa Lee was very shocked, he said, "that was fast. It has only been a few hours since they interviewed you."
• Faith said, "yes it was really fast grandpa. They have hired me and they want me to start work on Monday."
• Her grandfather was very happy to hear such good news from his grand daughter. He asked, "are you serious? This is good news sweetheart. Oh no! You are going to need a place to stay."
• Faith said, "yes grandpa, don't worry. I am already on it. I will find a place to stay very soon. I just might not be coming back tomorrow. I will need to first look for a place to stay before I can come back and get my clothes."
• Grandpa Lee said, "not a problem my dear, though I am worried about you being able to survive in a foreign city on your own. You may have grown but it's kind of scary, starting a new life in a new city on your own is not easy."
• She smiled and said, "grandpa, I am not as weak as you think I am. I will be able to survive, you will be very surprised at how great I will do in this city."
• Grandpa Lee said, "good girl. Continue searching for the house. We will contact each other later."
• She smiled and dropped the call. Then she got out of the store and started searching for a place to stay.
• The Heavens were on her side because the following day, she managed to get a flat that was only fifteen minutes walk away from the company.
• She was very happy with the security and the surroundings. She needed a place that was well secured since she will be living on her own.
• Thieves tend to target females that live on their own. She did not want a place that was not fully secured.
• She did not want to sleep with one eye open because that will make her not to be productive in her new job.
• After getting the flat, she decided that it was time for her to do a little bit of shopping. She has been someone that stayed at home previously.
• She rarely came out of the house so she really did not have much clothes to wear. She did not want to be seen as someone that was really poor.
• She did not want them to look down upon her just because of the clothes she will be wearing. She needed new things that were up to standard so that they can give her some respect.
• Every monthly allowance that was given to her by Elic, she did not use it. Instead she saved every little bit of cent she received from him.
• She got into a clothing store and bought herself a few office wear clothes with matching shoes. She then also bought herself few clothes to wear when she is not going to work.
• She bought few accessories that would match with her work outfits. She does not want to be seen as someone that was really desperate for the job.
• She also bought few kitchen things that she will need back in her flat. Then she hailed for a taxi and gave the taxi man the address of her new flat.
• She got there and tried to put things in order. She then decided to do a little bit of cleaning. She has rented out a flat that already had furniture.
• She did not want to find herself doing shopping for everything that will be needed back in the house.
• She only bought few items that were not included in the package. She wanted to buy herself some food but she was very tired from searching and cleaning the house.
• She decided that she will order some food and have them deliver it to her. She decided that whatever she needed. She will see it the following day.
• When she woke up, the first thing she wanted to do on that day, was buying the few food items she needed.
• She needed to buy herself some food that will at least last for two weeks. She decided that she will buy the rest after two weeks.
• She did not go too far, she just went to the nearest supermarket. On her way to the till she met Brandon again. Brandon was very happy to meet her. More especially because he left in a hurry the last time he saw her.
• He did not manage to get her phone number. When he saw her pushing a trolley and buying food items, he was shocked.
• He wondered why she was still here and he also wondered why she was buying food. Would that possible mean that she will be staying a few more days in this city? He asked himself this question.
• He said, "oh aren't I just glad to see you. After dealing with all the patients I was attending to, I hated myself for leaving in a hurry without getting your number. I am shocked that you are still in the city. I had thought that you have probably gone back to your grandfather's farm."
• Faith said, "nope I am still here, I will only go back there tomorrow morning. I got the job so I had to look for a place to stay because I am expected to start immediately. After getting the house, I decided that it will be best to buy few items I might need in the house."
• Brandon was too shocked to hear this, he said, "aren't you just the lucky one. I heard few people discussing the interview at the hospital last night. Most of them were so depressed not to get the job. They also kept on asking themselves who was the lucky lady that got the job. I am very shocked that you are the one that got the job."
• Faith said, "I was also shocked too. I will not lie to you, I was not expecting to get a response so soon. I am happy that I got it, I was really not looking forward into going back to grandpa's farm. I want to be able to stand on my own and not be dependent on him."
• Brandon said, "it looks like your prayers have been answered. So did you get a flat to stay?"
• Faith said, "yes I did, it is only fifteen minutes away from the company which is convenient for me."
• Brandon was still shocked, she seems to have lot of luck on her. She got a job that most people wanted and also managed to get a place to live in so fast on such a busy city.
• If he did not know her any better, he would be saying that she probably has someone helping her from behind.
• It was hard finding a place he could live in when he got into this city. He remembers that it actually took him a whole full week to finally get a place.
• Since he has decided that he wants to be in constant contact with Faith. He decided to go with her to her new flat.
• He volunteered to take her there with his car. She looked at her trolley and thought, "I have bought a number of things and walking back with so many plastics is not an ideal. I might as well take the offer he has given me. I will not lose anything by allowing him to take me there."
• They went to the flat and he was too shocked to discover that she was staying in the same building that he was living in.
• He said, "is this a coincidence or what?"
• Faith did not understand him, she was lost. She asked, "what are you talking about?"
• He said, "I live here."
• Faith was very shocked, she said, "oh really! Then I guess we will be neighbours from now on. It gives us more time to do our reunion."
• She laughed and took the plastics from the back of the car. He took some of the plastics and followed her.
• He saw her opening the door and finally believed that she was really living here. He said to her, "are you aware that not only are we living in the same building but we are also neighbours?"
• She looked at him and said, "what?"
• He said, "the door you just passed is my flat. My mom will definitely be very happy to see you. I told her that I met you at a restaurant the other day. She was very sad to hear that your mother has passed away."
• She did not respond to that. She still had anger in her. She was angry at the fact that her mother died without giving her some information about her father.
• She prefers to rather talk about her grandmother than talking about her mother.
