• When Wynter asked Shadrach about how he lost his sight and if he wanted to discuss it, he could have easily shrugged it off. However, for the very first time, he felt tired of holding everything within him. He wanted to let go of the burden that was weighing on his shoulders. Though he was certain that he couldn't tell Wynter everything, he could at least share a part of it with her. This way, he could start opening up to others, just as his doctors had advised.
• Seeing Shadrach lost in his thoughts, Wynter began to regret bringing up the topic. Perhaps it had triggered something he didn't want to mention, or maybe he was struggling to find the right words to express his emotions, fearing that it might scare her away.
