Chapter 86 Defeating the Tyrant
- Maxwell’s POV
- “I asked for a fair fight, Ash. Is this your definition of a fair fight?” I asked sarcastically when king Ashford’s generals dragged me out of the dungeon and threw me into the ring that was at the center of the crowd. I don’t know how they managed to do all this in just a short while, but they did it and it looks quite good. There was a large space in the middle for king Ashford and I to fight freely. His warriors stood around the ring, ready to strike me down if the combat is in my favor. But that is not the only reason why I’m being sarcastic with him. I’m being this way because I can see that king Ashford is still scared of me, he is trying so hard to make it difficult for me to defeat him. His body armor is more sophisticated than the ones his warriors are wearing and he is packing a lot of sharp blades on his sides, he isn’t even trying to hide the fact that this combat is rigged in his favor. He smirks at me as I approach his location with my hands handcuffed in front.
- “Don’t even try too hard, it’s practically impossible to break through those cuffs because it has been laced with wolfsbane.” He let out mockingly when he saw me trying to break out of the cuffs. I felt the sting from the cuffs and I knew immediately that he was saying the truth. He has made it practically impossible for me to win this duel, he actually thinks that I care about who wins or losses this war. If only he knows that my plans are still going exactly as I want. He thinks he can predict my every movement, he thinks he has me figured out, but he has no idea what is coming to him. He has no fucking idea.
