• I turned to find Leia standing in the doorway as I hung up the phone with Kai. Leia looked at me, worried; I knew she had come to check on me. She left, not wanting to crowd me with her presence or give me space. I appreciated it, but I also craved her company while I processed everything.
• The situation had worsened since the Queen witch, Veronica, had died on our Pack's land. This meant that the witches would likely blame us for Veronica's death. I only hoped they wouldn't escalate this to war like the Tiger clan did.
