Chapter 19

I paced back and forth in my room after Raelys left and it was just me. Several thoughts raced across my mind and I shouldn't even be considering it but no matter how hard I thought about it, it was the only option I arrived at. Besides, my mother always said that whatever happened in life, happens for a reason. So perhaps my meeting Cardan happened for a reason. And that was seeking revenge on the people behind the extermination of my family. I was going to ask for help. But then again, I didn't know who amongst the brothers I should ask. Rhysand seemed more approachable and I was for some reason at ease with him.
Nevertheless it was Cardan who rescued me from those men. Ahhh... I don't know anymore, I really don't. I'm not even sure if either of them would be willing to help me find out about the reason behind my family's death and revenge. Why would they help when I had nothing to offer them in return. Cardan was about give and take that I'm well aware of, I don't know about Rhysand though, he might as well be the same.
My myriad of thoughts were interrupted when the door pushed open, revealing Clara who slowly poked her head into my room.
