Chapter 7 The Xaviers' Estate
- "You b*stard! Go to hell!" Celine cursed.
- Even though this man had just saved her life, she felt no gratitude—only seething anger. Her teeth ground in frustration.
- Normally, she kept her distance from men, cold and indifferent. Still, ever since encountering this scoundrel today, her emotions had spiraled out of control.
- At this moment, she was seriously reconsidering continuing this sham of a marriage. She feared that sooner or later, this jerk would drive her to madness!
- "Sweetheart, how do we get to the City Hall in Demonia?" Lucas asked with a grin as if he hadn't heard a single word of her curses.
- "Don't call me sweetheart! We haven't registered yet!" Celine snapped through gritted teeth.
- After she said it, she felt like that wasn't enough and added, "Even if we do register, you are not allowed to call me that! Let me remind you again—we're only in a fake marriage, got it?"
- "Heh! Fake or not, you're still my wife. Now, how do we get to the City Hall?"
- Lucas shamelessly grinned as he spoke.
- Celine took a deep breath, smoothing her forehead in exasperation before saying, "We're not going to the City Hall. I'm not in the mood right now. Take me home."
- She then gave Lucas her home address.
- Earlier on the phone, Willy Xavier, the head of the Xavier Group, had been beside himself with worry after hearing about the assassination attempt on his daughter. He'd urged Celine to leave the scene immediately and return home to rest, assuring her that he would handle everything else.
- In the next second, Lucas started the car, and the Rolls-Royce Phantom sped off, leaving behind the aftermath—a dozen corpses and a handgun with a blown-out chamber.
- The gun wasn't an accident. Imprinted on the barrel were several deep, horrifying finger marks!
- The explosion of the gun had been no coincidence!
- Half an hour later, the Rolls-Royce Phantom arrived at the Xaviers' estate.
- It looked more like a sprawling manor, covering over 10,000 square feet. In the densely packed city of Demonia, where every inch of land was incredibly valuable, this was truly astonishing!
- The estate was designed in the style of a classical Mediterranean garden, complete with a massive outdoor swimming pool and even a private helipad.
- It wasn't just a single mansion, but rather several villa-style buildings where Celine's family lived, along with separate accommodations for the servants and bodyguards.
- The Rolls-Royce came to a stop in front of an exquisite villa, which was Celine's personal residence.
- After getting out of the car, Lucas glanced around the estate. His expression was calm and indifferent.
- Celine couldn't help but feel a bit surprised by his nonchalant demeanor.
- After all, any regular person—or even the average wealthy heir—would likely be awestruck, envious, or even overwhelmed with inferiority upon seeing the grandeur of the Xaviers' estate.
- But this man acted as though he was seeing something completely ordinary.
- Hmph! He must be pretending to stay calm, Celine thought.
- Little did she know, in Lucas' eyes, the Xaviers' estate was child's play.
- He owned over a dozen ultra-luxurious estates around the world, and even the smallest one was three times the size of this place—and far more opulent.
- There was even a time when a member of foreign royalty gifted Lucas a medieval castle in exchange for his protection!
- As they entered the villa, Lucas followed behind Celine. From this angle, her figure was simply irresistible.
- Once they reached the hall, Celine pointed toward the guest room and said coldly, "From now on, you'll sleep in the guest room!"
- She had considered letting Lucas stay with the bodyguards and servants, but ultimately dismissed that idea.
- After all, he was her nominal husband now; even if it was just for appearances, they needed to live together. Otherwise, what was the point of marrying such a man?
- Of course, sleeping in the same room was absolutely out of the question! Not even a chance!
- Lucas merely pursed his lips, seemingly indifferent to her words.
- Seeing his nonchalant attitude made Celine want to kick him. She gritted her teeth, reiterating, "In my place, you're not allowed to wander around freely, and you can't touch anything. You're not allowed on the second floor or above. Otherwise, Blacky will bite you!"
- As she spoke, a sturdy Dobermann charged down from the second floor. Its powerful build making it look quite fierce.
- Seeing the unfamiliar man, Blacky exhibited both vigilance and hostility toward Lucas.
- Seeing this scene, Lucas was momentarily taken aback before looking at Celine with an expression that mixed disbelief and amusement.
- Is this woman out of her mind? Does she not realize how fierce I am?
- With more than a dozen ruthless killers I dispatched, does she think a mere dog can intimidate me?
- I had single-handedly taken down a pack of wolves in Silkvania!
- "What are you staring at? Just because you managed to handle a few assassins doesn't make you that impressive! Humans and animals are fundamentally different, and Blacky is a trained guard dog. So you better behave yourself here."
