Chapter 12 Taking a Test

  • "Education? Uhm, let me think."
  • Upon hearing the question, Lucas scratched his head, pondered for a moment, and began counting on his fingers. "I have doctoral degrees in nine major fields: History, Biology, Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Military Science, and Psychology."
  • As soon as he finished speaking, Heidi's beautiful eyes widened in disbelief!
  • She was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter! It was a laugh filled with contempt and mockery!
  • "You're quite the character, aren't you? Nine doctoral degrees? Have you no shame in exaggerating to this extent?"
  • Lucas frowned slightly, feeling increasingly annoyed with Heidi. "I have no reason to lie to you. You're being narrow-minded!"
  • "Is that so? Well, since you're so knowledgeable and a doctoral candidate in nine fields, then perfect! I happen to have a test paper here. Do you dare to take it?"
  • Heidi asked teasingly as she pulled out a sheet of exam paper from her bag.
  • "Here, this exam paper covers questions from Biology and Medicine. I only scored 80 points when I took it. Since you're supposed to be a doctoral candidate in nine fields, I won't ask for much—if you can score 60 points, I'll believe you weren't lying! I'll even admit you're worthy of Celine!"
  • As she spoke, Heidi slapped the test paper down in front of Lucas, crossing her arms and wearing an expression of mockery.
  • He had to admit that Heidi was quite formidable. With her current posture, she looked even more imposing.
  • Lucas glared at the paper a few times before disdainfully saying, "What's so great about scoring 60 points? It's a piece of cake! But whether you believe me or not has nothing to do with me. Celine is still going to marry me; what does it matter to you? This wager is boring."
  • "What do you want to bet on, then?" Heidi asked patiently.
  • Lucas rubbed his chin and leered, "Actually, I haven't even gotten the marriage certificate with Celine yet. How about this: if I win the bet, you'll have to marry me instead. How does that sound?"
  • As soon as the words left his mouth, Heidi's expression immediately changed. Her beautiful eyes flickered a few times, and her delicate face flushed red with anger and embarrassment.
  • "What? Are you scared?" Lucas smirked, raising an eyebrow.
  • Seeing his expression, Heidi was so furious she could hardly contain herself.
  • How could she tolerate being looked down upon by such a sc*mbag?
  • Besides, how could a garbage man like him possibly score 60 points?
  • "You won't win, so what do I have to be afraid of? Let's bet! If you can score 60 points on this test, I will marry you!" Heidi gritted her teeth and declared.
  • "Just to be clear, it's not a sham marriage. You have to do everything a wife is supposed to do, got it?" Lucas said with a mischievous grin.
  • "Fine! You can have it your way! Don't think you can scare me with those words; do you really think I'll be intimidated by you?"
  • Heidi raised her delicate chin, seemingly seeing through Lucas' thoughts, and sneered dismissively.
  • "Deal!" Lucas replied as he pulled the test paper over from the coffee table.
  • After looking at it for a few moments, he exclaimed, "Huh? They're all multiple-choice questions?"
  • Heidi let out a cold snort. "Aren't you glad? Otherwise, you'd probably score zero. This way, you might manage to guess a few answers correctly."
  • "Haha!"
  • Lucas chuckled lightly, then picked up a pen and began to answer.
  • Heidi rolled her eyes and started playing on her phone, her delicate face filled with disdain and arrogance.
  • Is this guy still putting on a show, not willing to give up? She thought she would definitely humiliate him thoroughly later, making him realize he wasn't worthy to marry Celine at all.
  • He wasn't even fit to be a toenail on Celine's foot!
  • After playing on her phone for a while, Heidi casually glanced up and was taken aback.
  • She saw that Lucas had already put down his pen.
  • "What's the matter? Decided to give up?" she teased.
  • Upon hearing this, Lucas looked at her as if she were an idiot. "Are you stupid? I'm done!"
  • Heidi's face instantly cooled, and she let out a cold snort. "Done? Hmph! I think you just guessed your way through!"
  • With that, she stretched out her hand as if the test paper had become dirty just by being touched by Lucas, holding it with her slender fingers and taking a look.
  • The next second, she scoffed, pushing up her glasses mockingly. "Ha! How ridiculous! You got the first question wrong!
  • "Tch, the second question is wrong!
  • "The third question is also incorrect!"
  • As she continued, the disdain and mockery on her face grew stronger.
  • This man was indeed a useless piece of trash—full of bluster but lacking any real ability!
  • There were a total of 50 questions, and she had checked 20 of them, finding not a single correct answer.
  • "All wrong!
  • "Wrong!
  • "Wrong! What a waste! I really don't know where you get the courage to answer questions like this!"
  • As Heidi checked the exam paper, she mocked and humiliated Lucas, glancing at him instinctively, her beautiful eyes filled with contempt!
