Chapter 21

• Nick took a look at the staircase that was all by itself. He had no idea why he was feeling empty inside of him, but he could feel it. After pouring the remainder of the wine into his glass, he re-adjusted the volume on the stereo before taking a seat on the sofa. The soothing sound of opera music washed over him and calms his nerves.
• The near-error that he had committed loomed over him. If Gabby hadn't shown up, Alexa would've been in his bed. There will be no more simple marriages.
