Chapter 8 She Killed Someone
- Philip glanced at the mess on the floor and the bowl of foul-smelling medicine on the table, and his face fell.
- "What are you doing?"
- Rachel hadn't even had a chance to explain when Gina interrupted, "Clearly, she wants to kill Jonathan. I've seen her giving him acupuncture. You can't do that randomly. What does a girl from the countryside like her know?"
- Fiona still held a grudge from earlier, and now it was time to get back at Rachel.
- She grabbed Philip's sleeve. "Grandpa, I've always said that she must have ulterior motives for marrying into our family. Look at how she dresses; she must be very poor and wants to kill my brother to get the family's wealth."
- Philip asked Rachel, "Rachel, explain yourself for the sake of the relationship between your grandfather and me."
- Rachel naturally didn't want to take the blame. She stood up from the ground.
- "Philip, I can cure Jonathan's leg. Please give me some time."
- Gina sneered. "Look at you. I bet you haven't even been to university, and yet you dare to pretend to be a doctor."
- Rachel shot her a sideways glance. "You haven't looked into my case, so how do you know I haven't been to university? I dare to say this because I'm confident. If the treatment ends badly, you won't let me off either."
- "Even if you know a little bit about medical skills, so what? My grandfather has invited renowned doctors from all over the country to treat my brother's leg, and they couldn't cure him. What can you do?"
- Gina was determined to drive Rachel out of the household today.
- Philip spoke impartially at this moment.
- "Rachel, our family won't wrong anyone. So, as long as you can prove that you have the ability to cure Jonathan, I will believe you."
- Rachel lowered her head slightly, keeping quiet.
- Fiona became even more arrogant. "What's the matter? Have we exposed your conspiracy and left you speechless? Are you still thinking about how to cover up the lie?"
- She was pretending just now, wasn't she? This is what you get for crossing me.
- Jonathan, on the bed, remained silent because he also wanted to see what this woman was up to. If she has that kind of skill, why isn't she proving herself?
- Gina urged impatiently, "Hurry up; if you can't prove it, just admit that you want to harm my brother."
- Rachel clenched her fists. Should I let these people know her true identity? If I do, they will definitely investigate other things about me, and trouble will follow.
- She just wanted to let Jonathan know her true identity first; after all, his trust was the most important. She didn't care about the others.
- Gina couldn't wait any longer: "It seems that you can't prove it. Grandpa, let's call the police. I think this woman will only tell the truth once she's in the police station."
- Suddenly, Jonathan, on the bed, felt a slight sensation in his legs, even though it was just a moment. He felt it.
- He subconsciously looked at Rachel and realized that although she was facing the Fullers, her expression remained unchanged.
- This woman is quite interesting.
- Philip didn't say a word, tacitly agreeing with Gina's words. Gina smirked triumphantly and dialed 911.
- Jonathan shouted, "Wait."
- Gina looked up, stunned.
- "Jonathan, what's wrong?"
- "Let her stay and continue to treat me. You don't need to worry about it."
- Fiona got agitated. "Jonathan, this woman wants to harm you. How can we not worry?"
- "She is my wife; she won't harm me." Jonathan looked up slightly, his gaze dark and cold.
- Gina looked at her brother, surprised. Even though he was paralyzed now, his aura was not inferior to any of them. When she met his gaze, she could always faintly feel the killing intent in his eyes.
- She shivered unexpectedly and suddenly didn't know what to say.
- Rachel looked at the man on the bed with a hint of surprise. He actually helped me. And she smiled. He's not as fierce as he looks.
- Philip naturally respected Jonathan's opinion. In fact, he didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but Jonathan's health was also important.
- He asked Jonathan, "Are you sure she's not harming you?"
- "Grandpa, I'm very sure."
- Philip didn't know what else to say: "Since you say so, then let her stay for now."
- Fiona was displeased. "Grandpa..."
- "Your brother has said so. Besides, if there is no evidence and we report it rashly, what will people say?"
- The media would start making up stories again, saying that the Fullers were taking their new daughter-in-law to the cops two days after the marriage. They will laugh at them.
- As long as Rachel didn't do anything to harm Jonathan, they could downplay everything else.
- Gina tugged at Fiona, signaling her to stop talking. If they angered their grandfather, he would be even more biased towards this girl, and they would be in even more trouble.
- Fiona was reluctant, but she still had one last trick up her sleeve.
- Wait until George comes back, and then we'll see how to deal with this wretched girl!
