Chapter 21 Darling

• Everyone hurried back to work, leaving Rachel with no chance to escape. Before she could make a break for it, she was summoned to Jonathan's office. As soon as she entered, she lowered her head and nervously fidgeted with her hands. In that moment, she resembled a misbehaving student who had been caught red-handed. It was quite endearing at first glance.
• Jonathan looked at her with resignation as he rolled his wheelchair forward. His voice was soft and devoid of his usual coldness as he gently remarked, "It's only your first day, and you've already caused trouble. Did you assume that I would automatically support you?"
• When he heard that she had gotten into a fistfight with Silas, he felt a pang of worry. This was a feeling he hadn't experienced in over 20 years. However, he couldn't deny that it had actually happened.
