Chapter 4 Do Not Disturb My Husband's Rest
- The person who entered was none other than Gina, Jonathan's younger sister. When she saw the needle in Rachel's hand, anger flashed across her face, and she rushed forward, pushing Rachel away.
- "You wicked woman. Are you trying to harm my brother as soon as you arrived?"
- Caught off guard, Rachel fell to the ground. Gina Fuller finally saw Rachel's face and covered her mouth in shock.
- "Oh my God, has Grandpa lost his mind? I know Jonathan is paralyzed, but he doesn't deserve this treatment." Gina approached Rachel and disdainfully tugged at her clothes with her fingertips. "What are you wearing? It's so outdated."
- Our aprons look much better than this. They're made from superior materials, too.
- Rachel adjusted her glasses, her eyes gleaming with menace.
- Gina felt a twinge of fear as their gazes met.
- "W-Why are you looking at me like that? Let me remind you, I am a young lady of this family, so you better show some respect."
- Rachel didn't even want to acknowledge this rude woman. She wasn't one to easily forgive. "I am now your sister-in-law, and according to tradition, you should show me respect."
- Gina was stunned. She was surprised that this plain Jane could argue so well. "Don't act like you're important. If it weren't for your family arranging a marriage with ours, and if it weren't for your sister's infertility, do you think you would have had a chance? How dare you call yourself my brother's wife? Are you even worthy?"
- Rachel smiled faintly, but her gaze was menacing. Although the sun was shining outside, Gina felt a chill run down her spine.
- "If you say so. Please leave and do not disturb my husband's rest."
- "Hus... husband." Gina was dumbfounded, then sneered, "You shameless woman. You're so ugly, yet you dare to call my brother your husband? It disgusts me."
- Rachel could sense that Gina's feelings towards Jonathan were more than just sibling affection. There was jealousy in her eyes.
- Something doesn't seem right here.
- She deliberately raised her eyebrows and smiled gently, then she held Jonathan's arm.
- "So what? He's still my husband. It's written in the documents. I'm sorry, but please leave and do not disturb me and my husband's rest."
- Jonathan lowered his gaze. She addresses me as 'husband' as if we're already familiar. And she has a pleasant voice. It's music to the ears. More importantly, she can argue.
- This girl is quite intriguing. Despite her plain appearance and simple attire, her demeanor sets her apart from ordinary people.
- He couldn't quite put his finger on it.
- Gina's shoulders trembled with anger, and her pretty face turned red.
- "You shameless woman!"
- "We are legally married. Is that a problem?"
- "You... Just you wait!"
- Gina stomped her feet and stormed out, slamming the door behind her.
- Rachel breathed a sigh of relief. Dealing with this kind of young girl was truly exhausting. She was about to let go of Jonathan when he suddenly wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into his embrace.
- "Jonathan, let go of me!"
- She tried to struggle but realized that this man was surprisingly strong, and she couldn't move at all.
- The man's cold breath tickled her ears.
- "Who exactly are you?"
