Chapter 9 Healing Him In Two Weeks

  • Philip spoke up, "Everyone, please leave. Rachel, come with me."
  • "Okay."
  • Both Fiona and Gina were reluctant. They thought they would finally be able to get rid of this woman. Who would have thought that Jonathan would actually speak up for her?
  • Gina felt offended.
  • She had already planned to confess her feelings to Jonathan one day. If he agreed, they could immediately inform their grandfather, and he might even agree right away.
  • Who would have thought that Rachel would suddenly appear and ruin her plans?
  • After everyone else left, Rachel also prepared to follow, but when she reached the door, she seemed to remember something and turned back to the man on the bed.
  • "I'll be back in a moment. Don't move."
  • Jonathan smiled bitterly. "I can't move anyway."
  • Rachel thought he was feeling hurt, so she decided to comfort him since he had helped her through a difficult situation earlier.
  • Consider it as a way to repay him.
  • "Well... I'll cure you as soon as possible."
  • Jonathan noticed the sympathy in her eyes and smiled bitterly. He couldn't help but sigh. Just how pitiful does she think I am?
  • After closing the door, Jonathan's gaze became conflicted. Rachel's composure just now was almost extraordinary. Either she wasn't an ordinary country girl, or she really knew some medical skills.
  • Rachel followed Philip into the study, and Philip pointed to the chair in front of him.
  • "Please, have a seat."
  • Rachel remembered that she still had to give Jonathan acupuncture, so she politely declined, "No need, Grandpa. Just say what you want to say."
  • She didn't like beating around the bush. Simplicity and directness were what she liked the most.
  • Philip didn't expect this girl to be so straightforward, but he actually liked it.
  • "Can you really cure him?"
  • "I can't guarantee how fast it will be, but I will do my best. There's something unusual about his leg."
  • Philip frowned, "What do you mean?"
  • "For a long time, someone has been giving him a certain medicine that I am still investigating. But I can tell you one thing: if this medicine continues to be used, it will eventually result in amputation."
  • "What!" Philip's face turned into a mask of shock.
  • Someone dares to harm Jonathan so blatantly in this family? Who could it be?
  • Rachel originally didn't plan to inform Philip about this, but she only said it because she saw that he genuinely cared about Jonathan. Also, as long as Philip was willing to believe her, no matter how much Gina and Fiona framed her, it wouldn't cause any trouble.
  • She was also preparing for her future peaceful existence in the household.
  • "I'm not sure who specifically did it, but it's not my place to intervene. I'm only responsible for curing Jonathan."
  • Philip didn't know whether he should believe what the girl in front of him said or not, but based on his extensive experience in reading people, he felt that Rachel's demeanor was different from ordinary people.
  • But her appearance and attire made him think that he might be overthinking.
  • He suddenly remembered what Jonathan had said earlier. Well, since so many doctors couldn't find a cure for Jonathan, it seemed that he could only rely on Rachel now.
  • "Alright, how long do you need?"
  • Rachel frowned, "If everything goes well, it might take two weeks. If it progresses slowly, I can't guarantee."
  • She was currently analyzing the medicine that was causing his condition to persist.
  • Upon hearing this deadline, Philip's expression became serious.
  • "I'll give you two weeks. Heal him; otherwise, I will have to consider you as the culprit."
