Chapter 7 This Woman Wants To Harm Jonathan

  • Upon seeing Philip Fuller, Fiona felt as if she had found a savior.
  • "Grandpa, this woman actually attacked me. Please make her let go!"
  • Rachel released her, and Fiona quickly rubbed her reddened wrist. She was on the verge of tears. No one in the Fuller Family dared to treat her like this.
  • Fiona hurriedly ran to Philip's side, tears streaming down her face.
  • "Grandpa, you must help me."
  • "What happened?"
  • Johnson stepped forward. "Master, Miss Fiona just wanted to help the madam change her clothes. Who knew..."
  • "Yes, I saw her dressed like that and was concerned it would harm the reputation of our family. Who knew she wouldn't appreciate it and resorted to violence!"
  • "Miss Fiona, you wanted to forcefully take me away with two servants, didn't you?" Even in front of Philip, Rachel remained composed.
  • "You're talking nonsense. I..."
  • "Fiona, stop causing a scene. She is your sister-in-law now. Is this the kind of behavior we teach in the family? Go back to your room!"
  • After all, this was a contract made with Rachel's grandfather. Their family couldn't mistreat Rachel.
  • Fiona didn't expect Philip to say this. He's clearly taking her side.
  • "Grandpa..."
  • Philip gave Fiona a knowing look. Fiona knew what kind of man her grandfather could be. She didn't dare to cause trouble anymore.
  • Pouting, she said, "Fine."
  • Rachel raised an eyebrow in surprise. She didn't expect Philip to be such a fair man.
  • As Fiona passed by Rachel, she couldn't help but give her a fierce glare.
  • Philip glanced at Rachel. "Fiona has been spoiled by me. Don't take it to heart, Rachel. Stay here and take good care of Jonathan. We won't mistreat you."
  • "Yes, I will, Grandpa."
  • The way she called him "Grandfather" made Philip smile.
  • "Then, go back to your room and rest."
  • Rachel nodded, turned around, and headed upstairs. Her phone rang at this moment, and she glanced at it. It was Brandon calling.
  • She looked around to make sure no one was nearby before quickly entering the study.
  • "I told you before, it's not convenient right now. If it's not important, don't call me."
  • She didn't want her identity to be exposed in case it attracted trouble.
  • "Boss, I really have something important to tell you. Just now, Chris called and said someone is investigating you."
  • Rachel's lashes fluttered, and a gleam of light shone in her eyes. She knew who it was.
  • "It's Jonathan Fuller."
  • "Jonathan. Isn't he your husband now? Why is he investigating you?"
  • I can't believe he's doing this to his own wife. There's nothing to investigate now that we're married. Hmm, but the name Jonathan Fuller rings a bell.
  • He quickly checked and exclaimed in surprise.
  • "Oh my God, Boss, your husband has quite the background. At only twenty years old, he manages the company and monopolizes the entire economy of Lagrasse. He is now a leading figure in the industry. With just a word from him, the entire economy of Lagrasse could undergo significant turmoil. You two are a perfect match."
  • "However... it's a pity that he hasn't been involved in the company's affairs since last year's car accident. But his reputation remains stable in Lagrasse, and no one dares to challenge him."
  • "Enough with the nonsense and get to the point. I don't have much time."
  • Rachel impatiently interrupted Brandon, "Ahem... Should we make sure he doesn't find out?"
  • "It won't work if he doesn't find anything; it will only make him suspicious. But we can't let him find out everything either. Tell him a part of the truth about my medical skills. Maybe he can help me in the future."
  • For Jonathan to have his current position, he must be meticulous. Just by spending less than half an hour together, he already suspected her identity. She would have to be more careful in the Fuller household in the future.
  • "Understood. Also, there's a project that the company can invest in recently. I've already sent it to your email. Boss, please take a look."
  • "You guys handle it yourselves. I might not be online much recently."
  • "Got it. See you."
  • Rachel deleted the call record and left the study.
  • After dinner, she took the prepared medicinal brew and entered Jonathan's room.
  • A foul smell reached his nose, causing him to frown.
  • "What is this? It smells so bad."
  • "This is the medicinal brew I brewed for you. Drink it later, and I'll give you two injections. We'll see how it goes in a few days."
  • Jonathan didn't expect this woman to care so much about his condition. Out of habit, he had to ask something.
  • "Why do you want to cure me so badly? What's your motive?"
  • Rachel wasn't surprised that he asked such a question. She placed the medicinal brew on his bedside table and answered smoothly, "You are my husband now. If your leg gets better, I won't have to stay by your side every day, and it will be more convenient for me to handle things."
  • "Handle things..." She had even considered this aspect. A faint smile appeared on the corner of Jonathan's lips.
  • "So, please cooperate with me." Rachel squatted on the floor, took out the silver needles, sterilized them, and neatly arranged them in one fell swoop.
  • Jonathan glanced at the bowl of medicine on the bedside table, picked it up, tilted his head back, and drank it all. His brows furrowed, and his face darkened.
  • The taste was so bad that nothing could describe it.
  • Rachel got up and saw his expression. She took out a piece of candy, bent down, and fed it to him.
  • A sweet taste spread in his mouth, gradually taking the bitter taste away. Jonathan's brows relaxed.
  • Rachel asked him, "Still bitter?"
  • Jonathan glanced at her and said, "Did you prepare this in advance?"
  • "No, it's just my habit." Her grandmother hated medicinal brew. Since she found out, she'd bring candies along with her in case her grandmother needed medical attention. Sometimes, having candy when she was down would lift her spirits.
  • "Well, it's quite sweet."
  • "Then, I'll proceed with the acupuncture." Rachel held the needle and was about to insert it into the acupoint.
  • At that very moment, the door swung open abruptly. Fiona burst into the room, seized the silver needle from Rachel's grasp, and forcefully shoved her to the ground.
  • "You deceitful woman! Are you trying to kill my brother?"
