Chapter 17
- I spent the next few hours wandering around a palace. I wasn’t sure what it looked like outside, it could have been a medieval castle, but they called it a palace. Not that architecture mattered. I was still trying to grasp it was happening and had a few moments in my head of ‘Holy fraggle! I’m in a palace.’
- The women had shown me around but many had to go rest. That left Alona moving from room to room instructing a few men where to place furniture. I guess when you have a palace you can redecorate it whenever you want. I’d never seen the amount of furniture they had here. When you’ve lived as I do, a bed is all you have if you’re lucky
- Chase had taken me to the city long enough for me to show him the building, then he’d brought me back to his beloved and vanished again. A very small part of me wanted to be there when they found the apartment, the rest of me didn’t, so I hadn’t even asked.
