Chapter 9 No Time Like the Present

• Isaac began to laugh at Nix's apparent misfortune. " I'd like to see how he's going to worm his way out of this! Heheh!"
• Rosa frowned and said disgustedly, "How can you think like that? Didn't you hear how the Zweiger family treated him and his family? I can't believe you can still laugh!"
• Isaac shot a glance at Rosa. He could see the worry in her eyes as she looked at Nix. Somehow, that displeased him.
• He was about to say something sarcastic when his other two friends also said that he had gone overboard, so he sheepishly kept his mouth shut.
• Many people in the crowd were worried for Nix.
• The Zweiger family had a hundred elite bodyguards. As well as Anvil and Vice could fight, how could they fight against an enemy fifty times their numbers?
• They hoped Nix could come to his senses instead of doing something stupid. He would definitely have his chance to take revenge, but if he died now, it would be all over.
• The people from the Sonheim family thought otherwise. They, like Isaac, hoped that Nix would die most painfully and horrifyingly. Get him! Fight already! They thought.
• Whitney and Tony were thinking of the same thing. After all, Whitney only married Nix not because of love, but because she wanted to use his wealth and influence. It was the same for Kenn.

• While passing by Nix, Rosa whispered, "Mr. Jaeger, you're not going to get your revenge if this goes on. Why can't you be more patient?"
• Nix smiled at her and said determinedly, "That's because I only live in the present."
• Rosa shook her head and sighed before leaving.
• After all the guests had left the front hall, Justin closed the door and shouted, "I'll give you one last chance to make your decision! Even if you're not afraid to die, you should think of your parents and younger sister. If Kenny is hurt, I'll make sure that your entire family dies!"
• He did not want to say that when so many guests were present. Now that all the guests had left, there was no more reason to remain civil.
• "Are you threatening me?" Nix said coldly.
• "Is it a threat when I'm only telling you the natural conclusion? You seem pretty young, and you might not know the ways of the world. I'm teaching you a lesson so you won't regret your decision! People like you and your family are the bottom feeders of society, and you are born to be bullied and shoved around. As for me and my family, we are destined to ride on top of you peasants. No matter what we do to you, you have no choice but to bear with it! This is a dog-eat-dog world, and you have no chance of exacting your revenge! If you're not happy with it, you'd better pray you're reborn into a wealthy family! Now, let my nephew go. Otherwise, I'll capture you alive and torture your family in front of your face. I'll make you beg for death!"
• Nix laughed brazenly. "What a magnificent speech! What a noble family you have! Thank you for teaching me the ways of your world. I shall teach you a lesson about my world. We might not be born noble, but when we become angry, our collective anger can topple you! It doesn't matter how noble you might be!"
• As soon as he finished, he gripped Kenn's tongue and jerked it.
• With a sickening wet slap, Kenn's tongue was uprooted from his mouth.
• "Ahhh!" Kenn cried in agony as though he had been plunged into the deepest pits of hell.
• Bright red blood gushed from his mouth. The elite bodyguards could not help but take a step back when they witnessed the horrific scene.
• Nix smiled at Howard, though the smile was as horrifying as the reaper. "Do you like this birthday present, Deputy Mayor Zweiger?"
