Chapter 7 You Have a Death Wish
- Ashley's jaw covered her wide-open mouth with both of her hands. She dared not make a sound.
- Isaac and his companions were dumbfounded as well.
- Whitney and Tony could not believe their eyes.
- Everyone in the front hall had the same expression on their faces. They were also thinking about the same thing.
- Just who is that guy? Does he know where he is or what the Zweiger family can do to him?
- Justin Zweiger, the patriarch of the Zweiger family, was one of the wealthiest men in Southvane. His younger brother Howard, who was celebrating his birthday today, was Southvane's deputy mayor.
- How dare that guy force Howard's son on his knees, in their territory no less!
- Very soon, Kenn, who was in the second-floor lounge, was alerted of the happenings downstairs.
- His father and uncle were chatting with a big shot from the provincial government office, so Kenn had to manage the commotion himself. He apologized to the guest he was chatting with and went downstairs.
- "Hey! Why is everyone so qui…"
- Kenn walked down the stairs with a smile. He had not finished his sentence when the smile froze on his face and quickly turned into rage.
- "Conan!"
- He yelled and rushed forth to save his younger brother, but Anvil slapped him away.
- "It's you, Nix! How dare you!" Kenn glared at Nix. His eyes were about to spit fire.
- "You wanted me to come to the party and apologize, right? I'm here, isn't it? Why, aren't you satisfied with my unique way of apology?" Nix said sarcastically.
- "Stop it! Stop it right now!" Kenn roared.
- However, Nix pretended as though he did not hear him.
- Without Nix's explicit instructions, Anvil did not stop banging Conan's head on the floor.
- Kenn could see that his younger brother's forehead was split open, and the bone underneath could be vaguely seen.
- "You must have a f*cking death wish! You want to die so much, right? Fine, I'll grant you your wish! Security!"
- Upon his command, eight bodyguards appeared behind him.
- "Yes, sir."
- "Kill him! Kill them all!" Kenn roared as though he had lost his mind.
- Without showing any hesitation, the eight bodyguards charged toward Nix.
- Vice, who had been standing next to Nix all this while but had been ignored because of her small stature, lifted her arms.
- All ten of her long and curled fingernails shot up straight like needles. They glistened menacingly under the light of the chandelier.
- "Hah!" She let out a roar and charged toward the bodyguards.
- Her movements were as swift as the wind. The eight bodyguards of the Zweiger family, who were as strong as special forces soldiers, could not even touch her clothes. On the other hand, Vice drew blood upon every strike. The bodyguards' flesh was cut into strips by her finger blades, then they were kicked aside.
- In less than a minute, all eight bodyguards were sprawled on the floor. Vice returned to Nix's side as though she had never left in the first place.
- Everyone in the front hall gasped, shocked by the sheer efficacy of Vice's cruel methods.
- She was a living killing machine!
- They had never seen such a cold-blooded killer, not even in the movies.
- That made them even more curious about Nix's true identity.
- They wondered what grudge did he have against the Zweiger family.
- Kenn did not expect Nix's subordinates to be so strong. His face turned pale in an instant.
- Nix waved his hand to Anvil, indicating for him to stop.
- After that, he took another step closer to Kenn.
- Kenn gulped and took several steps backward. "What… What do you want?" he asked in a trembling voice.
- "Don't worry, I won't kill you. You made my family suffer. I won't let you off so easily by dying," Nix said.
- Those words made Kenn even more afraid. Nix's gentle smile was even more frightening than the devil's snarl.
- He fell sitting on the floor and turned his head toward the stairs. "Father! Uncle Justin! Save me!"
- At the moment, Howard and Justin were entertaining Ealon Proust, a high-ranking officer from the provincial government office, in the second-floor lounge. When they heard Kenn's cry for help, their faces turned pale, and they quickly left the room with Ealon.
- No one else was on the second floor; they all had gone downstairs to take a closer look. The three knew that something serious was going on, so they made haste down the stairs.
- Howard almost blew his top when he saw the scene in the front hall: His second son Conan was lying on the floor with his head covered in blood, and his eldest son Kenn was in Nix's hands.
- "Who are you? How dare you cause trouble here! You must have a death wish!"
