• I sit in the midst of a lot of pregnant women and their spouses as we all wait for the prenatal classes to start. Kai’s fingers are entwined in mine as we sit side by side. I tried so hard to be in the first row, but we ended up sitting in the third row.
• As I glance around the crowded room, I notice the excited chatter and nervous laughter of the expectant couples. Some of them look like they've been friends for years, while others, like us, seem to be flying solo. Kai gives my hand a gentle squeeze, and I turn to smile at him.
