• “How’s work?” I ask Astrid the moment she sits down for dinner. She started going to the office three days ago and I've been so busy, so I have not gotten the chance to ask her. Today is the first time that we’re both sitting for dinner since three days ago.
• “Fine.” she replies, picking up her cutlery as she begins to eat. We've been staying together for close to two months now and I can recognize the subtle changes in her voice. Her tone is flat and different, lacking warmth which only means that it's not fine.
