Chapter 6 Alpha Rogan&Apos;S Palace

• As i arrived at the stunning mighty gate of the Alpha's palace, I was stopped by two male guards, Mario and Corry, who were to conduct a thorough search on me before allowing me to enter.
• " Stop! Why are you running like you own the place ? " Mario shouted as I approached the gate, bringing me to a halt. I could see the way they both glared at me and knew what was coming next, but I so do not have the time for that now— I needed to get inside to clean.
• " What's your purpose here ? " Mario asked, taking some steps closer to me, while curry glared at me, and my eyes widened in surprise.
• " Are you kidding me right now ? You are asking what I came to do in the palace as if this is my first time here ? What kind of a question is that ? " I fixed my gaze on him, wearing a serious expression on my face.They weren't ignorant of my job as a maid in the palace, but as usual, they would never let me go in without me passing through verbal humiliation from them. At least, that's what everyone in the pack does to a rejected girl like me, right ?
• " Don't you argue with the palace guards, it's disrespectful" Corry interjected as he walked close to me, and I shifted my gaze to him
• " You came running like a squirrel who is being chased by a snake. It's better we ask to know if---" he suddenly lowered his voice and lowered his head to the next word he was about to say, " you came here to lay a curse on the palace and turn everyone into a witch like you," he said, and they both break in a uncontrollable laughter while I folded my hands over my chest, watching them make fools of themselves.
• I would have loved to watch them make a fool of themselves untill they get tired, but I really didn't have the time for that. I needed to clean.
• " It's obvious you both are f**cking with me, but this isn't the right time. Prince Patrick will soon arrive, and I'm suppose to do my part in the palace before his arrival. I wonder what would happen when I get inside and report to the Alpha that his security wolves stopped me from entering the palace, thereby, delaying my job. I don't know how that would sound to him,"
• I said, my hands confidently folded over my chest. However, I could see my words made them returned back to their senses as they considered the implications of what they were doing.
• Without further delay, they made way for me to enter the palace with frowns on their faces.
• " Go in," mario said with a frown and I smiled. " Thank you, a**holes," I cursed under my breath, giving the a middle finger as I made my way in.
• I stepped into the grande hall where the event would be holding, and there was a sweet smell that enveloped my nose, not the usual one that causes me to tremble. Everywhere was neatly arranged and a new stye of painting was being applied. A very beautiful interior decor was being executed, making the hall spacious and breathtakingly beautiful. I stood for a minute observing different light was being fixed and how the decoration was taking place as all the maids were pacing up and down, so busy with their works. Some of my childhood dreams began racing into my head again, imagining the possibilities of me one day having people decorate my wedding hall for me, but a voice I knew so well around the palace snapped me from my thought.
• " What are you standing there doing ? " I heard familiar voice sound harshly behind me, and I quickly spun around to see Ms. Tracy glaring at me.
• " Good morning, miss---"
• "Hey, that isn't necessary. We have been working our asses off since last night and you just arrived and stood there ? Ha!( She scoffed). " I will arrange your punishment later, but for now, go join the rest of the girls cleaning," she said and left abruptly. Ms. Tracy wasn't the type to mince words when you messed up. It was obvious she was very busy right now and didn't have time for me yet, but I know she will later.
• Quickly, I go grabbed a broom and joined the others in cleaning the massive hall when Eleana suddenly approached me.
• " You are late," Eleana said. Eleana was a maid also in the palace but unlike the rest, she was the only one closest to me. She had never joined them in calling me a witch or saying derogatory words about me, and she always knew my little secrets. " I called to tell you about the prince Patrick's home coming yesterday, but you didn't pick up, what happened?" Eleana asked, looking worried.
• " Sorry, dear, I had a really long night yesterday," I replied, sighing in frustration.
• " Oh, you mean war between you and your parents again, right ? " Eleaned said and genty and I nodded. Without being told, she knew what was bothering me by just observing my reaction. She knows the drama's always going on in the house.
• Gently, she took my hands, now looking into my eyes," Don't worry dear, it would be fine. I believe the moon goddess has a plan for you. you will one day find your mate and leave your parents' house for good, I promise," Eleana encouraged, and suddenly realized that I haven't told her the good part of last night yet. It had always been her wish that I would one day shift to my wolf, thereby showering me with encouraging words to keep my hopes alive. I'd better tell her that it already happened. Though I she will be the only one to know of that for now,
• " Eleana I have always doubted your words of the moon goddess having a plan for me, but I think I can believe that now," I said with a bright smile on my face. Seeing my sudden mood change, she smiled in surprise. " You re serious, girl. wow, I'm glad you now believe in yourselve. What happened to bring about the sudden believe ? " She asked.
• " The moon goddess surprised me last night Eleana, I'm now a full----
• " What are you two discussing about," Ms Tracy suddenly emerge out of nowhere and interrupted our conversation, and we both jolted back to our duty.
• " We are sorry, ma,"
• " Hey, you," She said and we both spun around to know who it was.
• " Who ? " We responded in unison.
• " I meant Sarah, dumb Heads. Go clear the dishes in the Alpha's meeting chamber and bring them to the kitchen. You will wash everything alone. That would be your first punishment before I think of something else," she instructed and left immediately again.
• " Okay ma," following her orders, I gently rode the dirty dish trolley, and headed to the Alpha's chamber with my rag.
• I arrived at the Alpha's chamber and after knocking thrice on the door, I received the order to come in. Pushing the door open, my heart melted as my eyes fell on a group of people seated on the chairs, having a discussion with Alpha Rogan and his Luna. Close to them was my dad, my mom, and all of the Alpha's cabinet, but the rest of the chairs were occupied by about a hundred extremely beautiful females, who were gorgeously dressed.
• I couldn't recognize majority of them and could tell that they were strangers. I was overwhelmed in surprise when my eyes suddenly caught Lana sitting amongst the ladies. She was also beautifully dressed too and it made me wonder what was happening.
• As I rode the dish trolley into the room, the all stopped whatever conversation they were having and I could feel eyes leering at me, something I hated most. I notice the Alpha's cabinet staring at my head, likely trying to spot my hair, but unfortunately for them, I was wearing a shower cap to cover my hair to avoid attention.
• I gently cleared the plates and cups on the table, putting them into the trolley and wiped the table with the wet rag in my hand. When I was done, I rode the trolley, rushing outside but as I walked past the girls, I felt my leg meet hit an obstacle and i stumbled to the ground and hit my back on the floor. Insanely, everyone in the room bursted into laughter except for the alpha and his cabinet, who were seating and giving me a deadly stare.
• Feeling ashamed, I quickly look to see what the obstacle was, only to discover it was Lana's leg. She intentionally put her foot on my way she I could fall and get embarrassed.
• Standing up, I quickly ran out of the room in shame. My eyes already welled up in tears, but I tried to hold it back. I wouldn't let my little sister make me tear up.
• The moment I got back, Eleana abandoned what she was doing, focusing her attention to me when she saw me raging.
• " What happened Sarah ? What's the problem ? " She asked.
• " Lana was in there, Eleana" I said in anger
• " Of course, you don't know? Your sister didn't tell you ?" She sounded surprised at my obliviousness to the issue.
• " Know what ? Why are you starring in sir
• " Those girls you saw in there are princessess from other packs who were selected to be with the prince Patrick as he makes his choice for a mate and Lana is part of them," Eleana explained and I felt like an bucket ofice has been poured on me.
