Chapter 22 Cell
- After an hour, we couldn't hear the soldiers' voices anymore, and I was informed that the execution was over. Everyone in the cell started talking. A few were discussing the four who had been taken by the soldiers and the ill fate they met, while others talked about different matters. But as for me, I lay on the floor, burning with hunger. I hadn’t eaten anything yesterday due to the heartbreak I suffered from Patrick, and now the day was slipping away without me even tasting water. I could have cried out, but I didn’t know who to cry to.
- "Thank you," Ciara, who was sitting next to where I was lying, said.
- In a weak tone, I replied, "Thanks for what?"
