- I held the cloak tight around me and looked around. Arius was sitting on a rock, a few of his brothers beside him. Victor had given him blood and his head wasn’t bleeding anymore, but he was still cold and looked shaky. I was still processing the fact that they could only replenish blood loss from ingesting royal blood, but that didn’t heal them, only feeding would. They were literally a whole species of their own. When Rafael had said he’d need blood, I thought needle and vein. I had so much to learn, and I wanted to learn it.
