Chapter 21

• I was about to ask how we were getting back when my stomach gave a violent heave. Clinging to the front of Arius’ jacket, I looked to see we were in my room in the other realm. “A little warning next time.” I took a deep breath.
• “Sorry.” He titled my chin up, his eyes filled with pain as he looked at my cheek. “I couldn’t stand there and watch blood run down your face a moment more.”
• I touched my cheek carefully and winced when it stung. “It was so much to take in, I didn’t react fast enough.”
