Chapter 82 Just Adding To The Pain
- It must have been due to the medication Brianna was given to assist her body to recuperate; she woke up while everyone was asleep. She could only see Lucien as Clark and Jack were seated by the wall next to the door, a direction not visible in her laying on the bed position. Had she been laid slanted on the bed, she might have noticed the two men leaning their head back to the backrest of their sofa chair, silently asleep facing her soles as she was on the bed. They all seemed to be cautious not to make any snoring sound as they were mentally aware there was a patient in the room. Well, Clark only snores when he is physically exhausted, like after long hours or medical surgery procedure he would do, but he doesn't snore when he is not so tired. Lucien is the same. Jack, on the other hand, does not snore at all. His weak heart restrains him from doing extraneous work, so he has never felt exhausted physically. He is more mentally drained at times; still, he sleeps quietly.
- Brianna saw she had an intravenous drip on her left hand. Lucien was on her right side. She tried to recall what had happened. The last person she saw in her memory before she fainted was Lucien. She stared at his sleeping form sitting on a sofa chair with a wide backrest, half-circle design, and his head was prominently leaning on it.
- Unsees from Brianna's view, Lucien rolled a small towel and placed it behind his neck to support his head as he leaned on the chair's headrest to keep his sight fixed on her until his eyelids grew heavy and he fell asleep.
