Chapter 44 You've Been Busy

  • And those eyes… as she reached the small table by the window where he waited, and she stood opposite him, she noted that she had forgotten how clear his eyes were; how almost translucent. Once, during their relatively short association, she had observed that his irises, while grey, were flecked with gold and framed in a narrow band of navy. They had reminded her of stained-glass windows in churches, whose undefined shapes and bold colors told the most detailed of narratives.

For the good of all her other files, her file labeled 'Theodore Warren – Her brother' had to be pushed down the list.
