Chapter 17 Start From Scratch
- Nadia didn't know what her dad answered; his reply was murmured too low for her to hear, and for decades afterward, she consigned the entire discussion to a dream… or she forced herself to believe it a dream.
- For the first few months after their divorce, she lived with her mother. Being so young, she didn't find it strange that she and Nadia were the ones who moved out of their house, although they remained in the same city and rented an apartment nearby.
- She remained in the same school, kept the same friends, lived in the same neighborhood, and saw her Dad almost every day because their divorce was friendly. Again, Nadia only vaguely recalled that the man who soon became her stepdad stepped into the picture rather quickly.
