- James wasn't sure Mia would be okay if she met Sofia. That woman, after James left her for dead he knew Sofia was a dangerous girl who could do anything for her benefit.
- Since he couldn't trust Mia, James decided to follow his wife as she drove off alone in a taxi. The man had taken a safe enough distance to be able to monitor Mia.
