Chapter 16 Max's Cunning Plan

• James was certainly fine. He deliberately let himself lose like that, willingly beaten by Max, just to make the situation seem dramatic like in a love drama. At the same time, he wanted to see if under these conditions Mia would still choose to be with him or choose to go with her family.
• "I'm okay." James whimpered. It actually hurt quite a bit because he hadn't activated his protection. Max's punch really hit him.
• Mia innocently helped James to get up. She put James' arm on his shoulder. Instead of feeling helped, James was worried that Mia's tiny bones would be crushed.
