• Hearing the faint hum of the coffee machine in the background alongside the sound of the TV and the sound of laughter from Kiana and Kanu should have brought me a sense of peace and comfort but in the particular situation I'm in, it only brought me unease with my hand tightening around my cellphone while I stared at it.
