Chapter 205 The Midnight Intruder

• After a consultation with the doctor, Hannah was sent to a ward and received IV drips. She forced herself to stay awake and asked Edith to bring Conan home to rest. Now that she was left alone in the room, she lay on the bed and drifted in and out of sleep. Every part of her body was screaming in pain, making it hard for her to fall asleep. In her struggle, she could distinctly feel her consciousness getting clearer, but oddly enough, her eyelids remained heavy. Hence, she could only shut her eyes while she remained finely attuned to her surroundings.
• After what seemed like an eternity, she felt thirsty, so she called out in a raspy voice, “Could you please pass me a glass of water?”
• Before Edith left, she had hired a caretaker to look after Hannah at all times. Hannah vaguely remembered that the caretaker was sitting near the door. However, her call was replied with heavy footsteps from the door.
