Chapter 9 Do You Want To Become Stronger?
- "It's okay Amelia. I get what you mean". Annie patted Amelia's back as she said.
- Annie didn't know the reason why, but her face darkened with hatred as her eyes saw all the scars that were on Amelia's body. She hated the ones who did this to Amelia.
- With the help of the real host's memory, Annie clearly remembered how Amelia got those scars. She remembered how Amelia used her body to shield the real host— when she was being attacked by none other than Aria, Gael and Mila, including her father and others too.
- 'What kind of person was the real host? To the extent that she got bullied by others, and it caused her death!. If this were me, I'd never have let anyone dare to bully me!'. Annie thought and hissed afterward.
- Finally, Amelia stopped sobbing as she released the hug. Although Amelia knew that her actions were bold, she hoped that Annie didn't mind the way she had hugged her because— it was improper for a servant like her to hug her Master.
- Staring straight at Amelia's eyes without averting her gaze from her, Annie asked, "Do you want to become stronger?".
- Amelia was stunned by Annie's sudden question to her. "Em, what does my lady mean by that?. Can a low-ranked vampire like me even get stronger? Lowly vampires like us had indeed tried getting stronger, but we only ended up failing over and over again". Amelia admitted to Annie as she sniffed her nose.
- 'Oh right, I forgot about this. Not every vampire has the potential and ability to get stronger. And according to the real host's memory, a lowly vampire can indeed get strong, but that could only happen if they worked hard. And even though they eventually get stronger, it will be limited. Unlike the real host, who was naturally talented. Plus, according to the real host’s memory, there's a school called ‘Tistna’ — for rich young vampires, or what do they call it, sect? Important and rich vampires have to go to school there for some years in order to learn more about the origin of vampires and how to grow more powerful'. Annie thought to herself before she came up with a brilliant suggestion.
- "I don't care, but we're trying it anyway, Amelia…. Starting from tomorrow, we're going to start with training. And also, the application will start next month, so we're going to apply to study in Tistna. After all, Aria also schools there, and as the first daughter of this mansion, why shouldn't I?". "But before all that, I need to do something important first". Annie added, and a smirk appeared clearly on her face. Annie smirked like this because she could already feel those two vampires trailing her by using her scent. 'Just how powerful is the real host that I'm able to know that those two vampires are looking for me?'. Annie wondered and smirked even more.
- "Huh? My lady, is anything the problem? And did you just say you're going to apply to school in Tistna? I thought you disliked that place?". Amelia was surprised and curious as she asked. She saw that Annie suddenly stood up, so she stood up too, so as not to be disrespectful.
- "Don't come close to me, Amelia. And you should probably cover your eyes for what I'm about to do". Annie ordered Amelia because what she was about to do now might hurt Amelia's eyes, because Amelia was a low-ranked vampire.
- Amelia did exactly as Annie ordered and covered her eyes immediately.
- Amelia was having a second thought of taking a peep at Annie, because she wanted to see what Annie was up to... But as soon as she opened her eyes, she immediately shut them back because of the bright light that shone— caused by Annie unleashing her power.
- 'What was that powerful light?!'. Amelia thought and was afraid because the light almost damaged her eyes.
- "You can open your eyes now".
- Amelia heard Annie's voice say to her. And although Amelia opened her eyes, she didn't open them immediately.
- Amelia wanted to ask Annie about what happened, but decided to remain silent.
- "I did that to prevent those two vampires from trailing me with my scent". Annie already understood the curious look in Amelia's eyes, so she said to her.
- "Vam…. Vampires?. What two vampires are you talking about, My Lady?". Amelia asked Annie. She doesn't remember any two vampires coming after them unless…. Amelia gasped in disbelief when the thought about Bernard and Arnold showed up inside her head. It was now that she remembered— that Bernard and Arnold had confronted her and Annie before. "My lady, what do they want with you?". Amelia panicked as she asked. She was extremely scared, even though Annie wasn't looking bothered.
- "Don't start with your sobbing again, Amelia… It's going to be alright, after all, I'm not that weak naive vampire anymore". Annie announced, and even after she said this, Amelia didn't calm down.
- Amelia knew the vampires trailing Annie were both Bernard and Arnold, so that was why she was so scared.
- "My lady, I heard that no vampires were successfully able to escape those two vampires. If Sir Bernard and Sir Arnold really mean to capture you, that would mean you'd be taken straight to Lord Davis!". Amelia announced, but Annie only smiled and shook her head.
- "We have to get out of here immediately before they arrive here!". Amelia added, because she wasn't strong enough to protect Annie from them.
- "What?. Amelia, I just got here, and now you want me to leave? You know that's impossible. I'm not going anywhere". Annie said nonchalantly. There was no possible way that she was going to leave this mansion all because of those two vampires, Bernard and Arnold.
- "But- but we really have to leave, My Lady. Bernard and Arnold will never stop hunting until they find you". Amelia's face was pale as she said this. With this facial expression of hers, Amelia was already hoping that Annie would listen to her this time around, but to her great surprise, Annie didn't even flinch a bit. Instead, Annie only stood still— staring at Amelia, who finally stopped talking.
- 'Oh no! Is my lady angry at me?'. Amelia thought to herself as she saw the way Annie was quietly staring at her.
- "Hunt, you say? It's their problem, not mine. And besides, I already did stop them once, and I can still do that again". Annie said with a proud face, as she was already getting familiar with all these new strange powers of hers.
- "Wait a second". Amelia muttered as it was finally now that she understood the meaning of Annie's words— 'I did that to prevent those two vampires from trailing me with my scent'.
- "But my lady, since when did you have that kind of power to do something like that? Lord Davis' protectors aren't jokes, and it's not easy for you to prevent them from trailing you. They're dangerous and powerful". "But come to think about it... How did my Lady escape from them after I fell unconscious? How did we even get back to the mansion?". All these questions came into Amelia's mind, so she asked them all to Annie at once.
- "Oh Amelia, you'd be shocked if I told you what you're so curious to know about". Annie declared before a wicked grin appeared on her lips– as she recalled how she humiliated both Bernard and Arnold.
