Chapter 12 The Hunt

  • The two feared Vampires, each holding their mythical weapons, suddenly came to a halt.
  • The other vampires who were waiting anxiously for these two particular vampires to leave– all shivered in fear when they saw them both halted.
  • "The scent of that young vampire lady…. It has faded!". Arnold said. His voice showed how frustrated he was... If they don't find and bring that vampire lady to Lord Davis, it will cost their lives.
  • "I can't believe that this happened!. How did that young vampire have the ability to hide her scent?!". With anger boiling throughout his whole body, Bernard uncontrollably unleashed his dark powers with full force.
  • They must bring that young vampire lady to Lord Davis…. Or else, Lord Davis would kill them for sure if they didn't. But how do they even begin– now that the female vampire's scent has already faded?!.
  • Loud coughing took place on the other side of the road. The other vampires weren't strong enough, so they all got affected by Bernard's dark powers. Although they tried to suppress their coughing, they ended up coughing out loudly– because of the feeling that they might choke to death– if they held it in for so long.
  • Some of them even tried crawling their way out of this place, but the unleashed dark powers of Bernard weakened their whole body system, making it even hard for them to move. Some of the vampires later passed out.
  • Seeing everything that was happening, caused Bernard to get deeply annoyed. "Pathetic!". With anger, Bernard was about to unleash another amount of dark power against the weak vampires, but luckily, Arnold was there to calm him down. But that was only for some moments because Bernard began ranting about the situation they were both in. They can't bear to face Lord Davis.
  • This was unlike them today…. Never in their entire lifetime of serving Lord Davis, have they ever failed him. "What are we going to do now, Arnold?!. You know we can't go back empty-handed!". Bernard asked.
  • Arnold deeply sighed seeing the way Bernard was being furious and unsettled. He later turned back and left Bernard's side.
  • "Where are you going? We can't possibly return like this!". Bernard yelled at the top of his lungs after he saw that Arnold turned back and left him.
  • But unknown to Bernard, Arnold had an idea in his mind.
  • The vampires, who were still coughing as they crawled on the ground, almost peed in their pants after seeing Arnold approaching them. ‘Is this going to be our last day?’. These were the thoughts that were going on in their heads.
  • Bernard saw that Arnold totally ignored him and that made his blood boil. "What is he planning?". Bernard muttered as he wrapped his hands on his chest. He could only watch from afar. There was no possible way that he was going to associate himself with those lowly and lowlife vampires.
  • "I'm looking for a young female vampire. She had long golden hair and was wearing a torn dress. Plus, she has really fair skin". Arnold simply said to them, as he hated beating around the bush.
  • The vampires Arnold questioned, dared not to say a word because of the fear in their system, which had taken complete control over them.
  • Arnold wore a wicked smirk on his face after seeing that these fools of a vampire, refused to say anything to him.
  • The five vampires, who were in the presence of Arnold, began pleading for their lives after seeing the dark fireball which was burning in Arnold's hand. Arnold was ready to burn them alive if they didn't have any clues to his search.
  • "Speak or you all get burnt alive". Arnold's voice was extremely calm as he threatened them.
  • "We really don't know who she was or where she was going…. We only saw her passing in that direction!". One of the vampires quickly pointed his finger towards the opposite direction and announced.
  • "Now, that wasn't so hard to say, was it?".
  • The vampires could only nod their heads upon hearing Arnold's question.
  • Before Arnold went back to Bernard’s side, he unleashed a small amount of his powers against the vampires, who he had questioned. "That was for wasting my time". Arnold added as he left them.
  • Although the injured vampires wanted revenge against Arnold and Bernard, they could do nothing about it, but only groan out in pain.
  • "Let's go". Arnold said as soon as he got over to Bernard's side.
  • Bernard had already overheard everything with his dark powers, so he didn't bother to ask Arnold any questions.
