Chapter 8 Not Just A Lowly Vampire
- Annie's bedroom,
- When Annie arrived inside her room, she carefully placed Amelia on her bed as she patiently waited for her to wait up.
- "She's still unconscious?. Honestly, how powerful was that vampire guy?". Annie muttered and was now battling about what to do with Amelia.
- Annie was still new to being a vampire, so she didn't exactly know what she was expected to do now.
- "Wait. That's it!. These vampires must have some kind of incantations to heal the wounded. Damn it. Even though there was an incantation that I could use, how would I do it? I arrived in this world today. Everything that is happening in this world is kinda making me want to change my mind. Could it mean I want to return to my own world?". Annie questioned herself.
- PS, even though Annie was fearless, she was wary of this new world she was in.
- "Arghhh!". Annie hissed and groaned as the memories of last night— when she was still in her own world, suddenly played right inside of her head— 'What I'd give to stop seeing these nightmares! Even if I have to travel to another world for it to stop, I sure am willing!'. This memory replayed over and over inside Annie's head before it finally stopped.
- "What was all that?". Annie said after the memory of last night which had played in her head, ended. "I think I'm feeling goosebumps. Could that be it? The reason why I was brought here? Simply because of my words? It was obvious I was furious when I said those words. But, I didn't expect the universe to take my words so seriously, to the extent of sending me into this world". Annie muttered as she complained even more.
- "My- my Lady?".
- Annie turned to face the person who had called her. And when she saw that it was Amelia, she was glad.
- Seeing that it was Annie's bed that she was lying on, Amelia panicked. "I'm so sorry, My Lady!. A mere servant like me isn't worthy of lying on your bed". Amelia announced and immediately tried to get up from Annie's bed, but Annie prevented her from doing so.
- "You're still injured. So stay still". Annie ordered Amelia with a harsh voice, as she didn't want Amelia to oppose her order.
- "Don't be stubborn and stop moving, Amelia". Annie ordered Amelia once more as she noticed that Amelia was still trying to get down from the celeste's silver velvet mattress.
- On the other hand, Amelia was already aware that her lady, Annie, was a kind and generous vampire. But according to the rules, it's an abomination for a lowly and low-ranked vampire like her to lay or even sit down on her master's bed. If others were to see her on Annie's mattress, wouldn't there be any problem?.
- Even still, Amelia was feeling unsettled because this was the law of Lord Davis, which Annie was violating.
- But it was a surprise to Amelia because Annie didn't even take breaking the law as any problem. Rather, she was oddly calm.
- "But... But". Amelia was trying to explain, but the right words weren't coming to her lips.
- Annie deeply sighed and was worried after seeing the troubled look on Amelia's face. In Annie's years of life, never has she cared for anyone, ever since both her parents died.
- Annie had a deep resentment towards the humans who abandoned her after her life came falling down hills. She knew all the struggles and hardships that she experienced just to get to the top again. And what made Annie despise all those pathetic humans who betrayed her even more, was because, after she had made it back to the top, they started acting like nice guys.
- But now, everything has changed for Annie ever since her transmigration to this world. She had finally seen someone who truly loved and cared for her. And that person was Amelia.
- Annie had already acquired the real host's memories, so she knew the kind of humiliation and sufferings that Amelia went through for her sake— the real Annie's sake, that is.
- For the first time ever, Annie sincerely thought of protecting someone like Amelia. She planned to treasure and cherish Amelia like a special gold she never had, because she had never in her life seen someone as devoted as Amelia. Amelia was just too selfless for her liking. And someone like Amelia won't be able to survive in this world on her own.
- Annie suddenly held Amelia's hand, causing Amelia to gasp in disbelief.
- Honestly, Amelia tried slipping her hand away from Annie, but Annie wasn't at all ready to let go.
- Soon after, Amelia froze upon seeing the way Annie was staring at her. Amelia's heart suddenly began beating rapidly as she felt the surrounding time stop completely, causing everything to look stiff to her view.
- "It's alright Amelia…. I'm here with you. And I promise not to let anything, or even anyone, ever lay a finger on you. You're not just a lowly and low-ranked vampire you think of yourself as. Instead, you're a special treasure who could even melt a wicked person's heart. From now onward, I'll take you as my sister". Annie admitted. And secretly, she was kinda referring to the wicked person's heart as herself because, in her own world, she was a heartless and destructive human being. And just maybe, her sudden transmigration to this new world wasn't such a bad thing after all.
- Amelia felt her eyes getting heavy because of the heavy tears that were piled up inside both of them. Not being able to control her emotions, Amelia released her hand from Annie's grip— before using the same hands to hug Annie as she cried out so bitterly.
- "My lady, your words were the nicest thing a person has ever said to me in my entire life. Thank you so much for caring for an orphan like me!". Amelia added as she whimpered and drenched Annie's dress with her tears.
