Chapter 12

• Maddy glanced up from the text book she’d been crawling through to Colin on the other side of the room. She grinned when she saw him half-standing, half-sitting, holding his empty plate. It looked like he was going to take it to the kitchen, but instead was skimming a finger down the page of a journal they’d been sent to read through.
• Picking up her own plate, she quietly went over and pulled the plate from his grasp.
• Colin jolted, thinking he’d dropped it and then blinked to see her standing beside him. He grinned at her sheepishly. “My mind is running at top speed right now.” Colin motioned to the book he’d been reading, “it’s just, mind blowing, some of the things your people can do.” He straightened and put a hand in his pocket. “I guess you’re used to it, being able to do it yourself.”
