One week later
Lilian stood in front of Nate's office, her heart pounding hard against her chest. Again, she asked herself if this was what she really wanted, but after giving it thorough thought although it was a difficult decision, she knew that this was the only way out of all the mess. Turning in her resignation was the only way she could get herself out of this mess. The last one week have been filled with her brooding over what happened, and she needed to get herself out of the mess at this point.
She breathed in and out, then knocked on the door and waited for him to usher her in.
