Chapter 187 The Counterattack Begins
- The two worked through the night, packing up everything they could into their storage space. The stainless steel doors were dismantled, including those from units 1801 and 1802, as well as six doors from the stairwells—two damaged by the explosion and four intact. They took the intact ones, knowing they’d need them for the new place. It wasn’t just doors they took: blast-proof glass, bulletproof glass, door frames, glass cabinets, and even curtain rods—nothing was left behind.
- The eight rabbits were unharmed, although a few newborns had been startled to death by the explosion. Nadia packed them all into a cardboard box and placed them in the Hummer’s trunk. By 5 a.m., the two of them drove away from the SOHO Community, where they had lived for two years. The car stopped at the gates of the university town, where the first light of dawn began to break through the horizon.
- Nadia sat quietly in the passenger seat, lost in thought. With a first time, there is inevitably a second. The Azure Steel Camp doesn’t stop here. Hiding isn’t a solution, and it certainly isn’t our style.
