• “Only if something bad happens to me, Melinda.” I smiled at her but there was no mistake that fear was still etched on my pale face. “The Forbidden Lake is just a little far from the Ivory Forest. And if I reach the end of the woods, I believe I will find it. I have a strong feeling Evander was brought there, Mel. I have to save my husband.” I said to her as I slipped my hands on the sleeves of my jacket.
• My heart broke when I went to Evander and I’s room and found out that he didn’t fix any of it or even use the room again after the failed assassination. The bed remained destroyed in half. The stain of the splattered blood of the dead enemy still stained the walls and there were splinters and parts of wooden furniture scattered all over the floor.
