- Exhaustion washed over me, my body and mind craving rest after the intense events of the day. "I think I just want to lie down and sleep," I murmured, my voice a weary whisper.
- But as I moved to approach the small bed in the corner of the room, Aaron's authoritative voice stopped me in my tracks. "No, Maya. You'll sleep on the rug."
