• Chapter Eight
• “Is it the same Bruce that we all know and fear.” Lady Ryan thought in her mind.
• “Now it is over for Lucas, Bruce was after his life.” Micky said in her own thought.
• Gary does not even mind the shock of the entire Ryan family, he was only concerned about taking Cassie away, he knew about Cassie beauty, and he cannot wait to have her to himself, just that Cassie would not be his wife, but his brother’s.
• Though Gary agreed to it, yet he had his own plan with Cassie, hence his agreement in coming today to settle the bride price. He sat down and asked for tea.
• Immediately the Ryan family get to work, even Harold was the one who served Gary tea, he even stood guard to refile Gary cup when empty.
• Back in the hospital, Lucas was treated by one of the doctors, the bullet was removed, the artificial wound was snitched by the doctor, they even have him antibiotics injection to prevent infection, his other injury was also taken care off by the Doctors.
• Actually Lucas had no need for treatment, he had even heal himself the moment he climbed up Gory cliff, his bone are reconnected, and he had also stopped the bullet from causing any more damage to his internal organ, he even heal the internal organ touched by the bullet, he only left the visible wound.
• Still, Lucas was satisfied by the Doctor meticulously, the man was really good in what he does, Lucas decided to find the Doctor in the future, because he did admitted that the Doctor did a perfect job on him, and he was very sound and well, he even jumped up to show how energetic he was.
• But Cassie was not satisfied with Lucas assurance, she ordered a thorough check up on Lucas, she asked to check him from head to toe, for any sign of internal injury or broken bone.
• The Doctor became tired all the sudden. “Ms Cassie, you see your husband had this body system that was different from other system.” The Doctor hanged the scan made on Lucas on a board.
• He touched the first x-ray. “First all the bone in his body are back in shape, I don’t know what happened, but the bones reconstruct itself miraculously, I even wonder if really he fell just as you claimed.”
• Cassie also frowned seeing the x-ray too, because there was not a single sign of break, she turned at Lucas. “Did you really fall as you claimed to before?”
• Lucas heart began to beat very fast, though he had promise not to hide anything from Cassie, he was going to tell him about his superpowers, there is only one thing he would keep from her, and that was his transmigration. Just that he was not prepared to start spilling the beans about himself.
• “Wife, I really fell, I was not joking about it.” Lucas said looking so scared.
• Cassie approached Lucas, she can’t seem but wonder about Lucas, because the more time she spent with him, the more she believed that her husband had changed, he had became more bold, he also became more calculating, more shameless, even more scheming.
• “People who see you right now would think that I bullied you. Yet they will not know that, you are the one bullying me by trying to pull a joke on me.” Cassie said sternly at Lucas.
• “I am really wounded and pushed down, you can go ask Harold about it, he dare not even lies against me.” Lucas said still in panic.
• Cassie wanted to say something, but the Doctor cut her short. “Ms Cassie, believe me when I said your husband was really hurt, hurt even beyond normal hurt and neglect.”
• The expression in Cassie took a drastic change. “Then what is about his miraculous healing?” She asked immediately
• The Doctor swallowed his saliva first. “I don’t know how to explain this you, that you might understand me better. But in easy word, your husband was very special; he might have this kind of body system that can heal itself whenever they are hurt.”
• Cassie looked at the Doctor in puzzled, he turned her attention back to Lucas who was on the bed, she began to imagined many occurrence or explanation towards what the Doctor just said about Lucas.
• “Like Deadpool right.” Cassie said smugly.
• The Doctor snapped his finger and smiled. “Exactly, just like Deadpool, just that your husband might be better, I don’t know why, but I felt that he is better than Deapool.”
• “So he was okay from head to toe right now.” Cassie said in a relieved tone.
• “Yes Ms Cassie.” The Doctor said with finality, the same time nodding his head.
• “If that is the case, can we take our leave then? The day is running over.” Cassie said, she was checking his wristwatch
• The Doctor nod his head. Immediately Cassie and Lucas also left the hospital behind. Outside Cassie stopped a taxi, she and Lucas both board the taxi and head home.
• Meanwhile all through the journey, both Lucas and Cassie have different thought going on in their mind. Cassie was in deep thought concerning the new changes in her husband, she was glad and scared at the same time.
• She was glad because Lucas had changes for good, at least with his new found boldness, he can protect her better than before. Most woman wanted a man that can be a shield for them in time if trouble, they wanted a man who can be a Knight in shining armor for them, a man who can fight the whole world for their sake, a man whom they can confide in and place their trust in.
• And Cassie was no different from all other women too, just that she was disappointed at his husband, his husband was not the least strong, he was too timid to even fight back at anyone, this had always caused Cassie to much worry in that past, but things are different now.
• Though she had not seen Lucas in action, but seeing how much Lucas bickered word with her grandmother today, she believed that he had changed for good. Just that if Lucas really changed; then won’t he attract more women to himself? Won’t he later neglected her and go after more powerful and influential women. These were the question that rose from Cassie heart.
• Cassie looked at Lucas direction, she noticed his eyes went closed, he also folded Hus arm together, and even Cassie herself was stricken with love all over again for the manly guy who sat beside her in the taxi.
• Suddenly the taxi driver applied the break, since it was unexpected and neither Cassie not Lucas used the seat belt, both were thrown forward by the impact.
• But Lucas was sturdy, he who was no different from a advanced human being, mere impact of the break like this should affect him.
• But Cassie was different, she was thrown forward, she even screamed loudly in fright, but unexpected, she found herself wrap in warmth in someone arms, when she open her eyes, she found himself in Lucas arm, she had no idea how she was saved by Lucas.
• Her mind began to glowed in much warmth, she even smiled at herself, she forgot that she was in that public, but she began to fantasized about many immoral things with Lucas.
• Meanwhile Lucas aura changed drastically, he had already predicted this to happened, hence the reason why he was able to saved Cassie from injury, the break caused a huge impact, such that even the taxi driver was not saved, even though he used seatbelts. Just that he was just clueless about what caused the driver to use the break suddenly
• “What happen?” Lucas asked in a voice that sounded like a growl.
• The driver also groaned in pain, he was holding his neck. “Someone was on own road, he came suddenly that I don’t even noticed him, I almost hit the person to death, thankfully I am experienced driver.” The taxi driver turned to Lucas and Cassie. “Is miss alright?”
• Lucas nod his head, he looked around and can noticed the whole road in chaos, the sudden break had cause a minor accident on the road, cars are parked at different angle of the road, and in different position.
• Meanwhile pedestrian and drivers are all screaming in delight, anger, surprise, and even in helping tone, the group of pedestrian and drivers had formed a crowd, and some of the crowd approached Lucas taxi in quick succession.
• “Somebody call the ambulance.” Some are saying.
• “Let’s give an helping hand to the victims.”
• “They might be in danger.”
• “Are you a blind driver? Can’t you just watch what you are going? Do you even go to a car training school?..........” some of the crowd are cursing very loud.
