Chapter 21 Expensive Gifts
- Bryson retrieved a gift from his seat. It was a long scroll that he slowly opened from left to right to reveal a magnificent watercolor painting of a willow tree. “Grandpa, this is my second gift to you, painted by the descendant of Vincent van Gogh himself! The willow tree symbolizes a long life and harmony in the family,” Bryson elaborated eagerly.
- “Oh! Let me take a closer look!” Old Mr. White was clearly excited as he hastily put on his spectacles. He ooh-ed and ahh-ed as he examined the painting, an evident sign that he had taken a liking to the artwork. The other White relatives admired the painting from afar, praising Bryson for his thoughtfulness.
- “What a beautiful piece! It must have been so expensive!”
