Chapter 33

• "Mr. Liam, we're going to need to perform a C-section on your wife," the doctor said, his voice calm. Liam was already drenched in sweat, his anxiety evident in the way he fidgeted in his chair. Lucy had been in labor for two days, and Liam had lied to Asher, telling her he had to go on a business trip in order to stay with Lucy in the hospital. To keep everything discreet, they had gone to a different hospital than the family hospital, hoping to avoid any prying eyes or questions.
• "If that is the best option, please go on". Liam said, his voice shaking.
• The doctor directed him to a nurse to fill the Consent form before carrying out the surgery. With a shaky hand, Liam signed the form and Lucy was wheeled to the theater.
