• "But sweetheart, you need to rest today. Remember the doctor said you need to rest for at least a week before you resume work. Where are you going now?" Asher said, as Liam was preparing to leave the house.
• Liam had only just been discharged from the hospital the night before, and he was already up and getting ready to go out.
• He had texted Lucy the day before to explain why he hadn't been able to reach her. Lucy had been so worried that she wanted to see him that night, but he had begged her not to come because there was no way she could visit without causing a scene. His parents and Asher's parents were still around, and he knew Asher would be devastated if she saw him with Lucy so he had promised to see her the next morning.
