Chapter 9 Cannot Be Undone
- A jolt of surprise struck Marisol's heart when she was confronted by Dominic's icy stare.
- Right then, she finally remembered something. This young man is indeed the owner of that card! I'm no match for him!
- Therefore, her only option was to turn toward Anthony, her eyes pleading for help.
- Anthony felt a pang of sympathy. Just as he was about to speak, he caught sight of Dominic's icy gaze. It was as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head, sending a chill down his entire body.
- Anthony was overcome with lingering fear in his heart. That was close! It was such a close call! If I had pleaded on her behalf just now, I would probably have been the unlucky one. I can't get myself involved in this mess!
- With that in mind, Anthony had no choice but to lower his gaze, pretending not to notice Marisol's stare.
- Just like that, Marisol had lost all hope.
- Under the intense gaze of Dominic, she gritted her teeth and reluctantly began to slap herself.
- Slap! Slap! Slap!
- Again and again, each time giving it her all.
- She dared not hold back, fully convinced by the words Dominic had just spoken.
- If Dominic were to personally take action, she'd likely end up in the ICU.
- The ten slaps were quickly dealt with, and Marisol no longer possessed her previous radiant beauty. She had transformed into a complete mess.
- After she finished slapping herself, she covered her face and left with her tail between her legs.
- Dominic didn't stop her because his goal had been achieved.
- Next, Dominic turned his gaze toward Ethan.
- Ethan's face underwent a drastic change when he met Dominic's gaze. “W-What do you want?”
- Ethan had witnessed Marisol's fate earlier, and he didn't think his outcome would be any better than hers.
- The fear of the unknown often intensified one's dread.
- Pointing at Janet, Dominic slowly asked Ethan, “Before, which hand did you use when you hit her? Which foot did you use when you kicked her?”
- Marisol had only slandered Janet, so Dominic merely had her slap herself ten times.
- However, Ethan was different. Not only did he slap Janet across the face, but he also delivered a harsh kick to her stomach.
- Dominic couldn't swallow the resentment within him without teaching Ethan a lesson.
- Upon hearing Dominic's question, Ethan clenched his teeth, remaining silent.
- “Speak up.” Dominic's gaze grew colder. “Which hand? Which foot?”
- Thud!
- Suddenly, Ethan knelt down abruptly before Dominic. “Spare me, please, I was wrong. I'm sorry, truly sorry. It was my fault. I shouldn't have hit her—”
- Dominic began to laugh, and his gaze remained icy cold. “When you hit her, why didn't you think about the consequences?”
- “I won't waste time with unnecessary words.” Dominic suddenly said to Anthony, “You, go find a sturdy stick and bring it here.”
- Anthony paused for a moment, then hurriedly nodded and dashed out. He quickly returned with a sturdy stick in hand.
- “Break your own arm and leg, and we'll call it even. Otherwise, the consequences will definitely be something you wouldn't want to bear,” Dominic said.
- Ethan was taken aback. Break my own limbs?
- He looked at the stick on the ground, breaking out in a cold sweat, his entire body trembling.
- “No! Please, I beg you... Madam, I was wrong. Please spare me. I have aging parents and young children to take care of.” Ethan knew that pleading with Dominic would be futile, so he crawled on his knees to Janet, continuously begging for mercy.
- He exerted a great deal of force to slam his head on the ground, which resulted in a loud pounding noise. Almost instantly, a bruise began to form on his forehead.
- Janet's eyes were filled with hatred.
- She hadn't forgotten how Ethan had treated her before.
- However, she couldn't bear to see him in such a pitiful state, so she chose to turn her head away, avoiding his gaze.
- “Hurry up. Don't make me do it myself,” Dominic said coldly.
- Hearing that, Ethan gave up and turned to look at the stick on the ground. He had no choice but to pick up the stick. The young man standing before me is the owner of that card, possessing a power that's absolutely beyond my capabilities as a mere security guard. If I don't do this myself, he'll certainly beat me up and even go after my family.
- He was filled with regret, his heart brimming with remorse.
- However, he knew that what was done couldn't be undone. Besides, he knew he had no choice but to pay for his mistakes.
- Ethan gritted his teeth, took a few deep breaths, and forcefully brought down a stick onto his own left hand.
- Crack!
- He used a lot of force, and with just one move, his arm was broken.
- “Argh!”
- Ethan let out a pained grunt, his features contorting in agony.
- He collapsed onto the ground, his body trembling.
- Dominic remained expressionless, utterly calm. For him, this was nothing more than a trivial matter.
- Anthony's face had turned pale, and he cast a somewhat terrified glance at Dominic. He's too ruthless.
- At the same time, Anthony was filled with lingering fear in his heart. Thankfully, I didn't get myself involved in this matter. Otherwise, my fate would be equally grim.
- “Continue,” Dominic said.
- Even though Ethan was in so much pain that he was on the verge of passing out, he perked up upon hearing those words. He mustered the strength to pick up the stick and aimed it at his thigh.
- At that moment, Yvonne couldn't bear to watch any longer.
- She walked over and tugged at the hem of Dominic's shirt. “Maybe we should let it go...”
- Janet quickly chimed in, “Yes... Let's drop it. He's already been punished.”
- Although they were both infuriated and outraged by Ethan's actions, witnessing him break one of his arms caused their anger to dissipate.
- Driving Ethan to his death wouldn't have benefited them in any way.
- Hence, they were ready to let things slide.
- “All right. I'll listen to you both. Let's consider this matter settled.” Dominic then looked at Ethan, his voice icy. “If you're not satisfied, if you hold a grudge, feel free to seek me out for revenge anytime.”
- “No! I wouldn't dare!” Ethan hastily responded.
- Ethan wouldn't even think about taking revenge. He didn't want to court death.
- After that, Ethan looked at Yvonne and Janet with gratitude.
- If it weren't for them, he would have probably ended up hurting his own leg severely. Even though he could have gone to the hospital for treatment, the exorbitant medical bills would have cost him a fortune.
- Yvonne and Janet chose to spare him, for which he was naturally grateful.
- Before long, Ethan also departed.
- Upon seeing this, Anthony hastily handed over the black card to Dominic with both hands. “Sir, your bank card.”
- He was still somewhat anxious inside, uncertain if the outcome had satisfied the gentleman before his eyes.
- Dominic glanced at him. “My belongings aren't something you can just take and return as you please.”
- “Mrs. Litchfield, let's get going,” Dominic said.
- Janet gave a nod, and the three of them promptly left the bank.
- The manager's face had turned pale. He held the bank card in his hand, a look of bewilderment spread across his face. That's it! I'm going to lose my job!
- After stepping out of the bank, Yvonne said to Dominic, “You take my mom home first. The things we bought earlier are still at the supermarket. I'll go pay for them and pick up some groceries on the way back.”
- “All right.”
- After Yvonne had left, Dominic assisted Janet as they headed toward their home.
- “Dom, just who are you really?” Janet couldn't help but ask.
- She never imagined the previous bank card could lead to such a situation. How could such a person, who is clearly wealthy or of high status, end up being a tenant in my house?
- It was clear, even without much thought, that Dominic, the owner of that card, was someone of significant importance.
- Otherwise, Anthony wouldn't have treated him with such respect.
