Chapter 15 You Have Been Fired

• Left with no other choice, Yvonne reluctantly agreed, “All right, then.”
• Janet and Gregory exchanged a glance, both seeing the humor reflected in each other's eyes.
• They had had a lengthy conversation the night before, which naturally included matters concerning Dominic and Yvonne.
• The couple was entirely pleased with Dominic. Naturally, they would be delighted if Dominic and Yvonne could end up together.
• Before long, Yvonne emerged, pushing a scooter.
• Dominic furrowed his brows.
• She goes to work on a scooter?
• It seems that ever since Mr. Litchfield became paralyzed in both legs over these past years, the living standard of this family has really deteriorated.
• “Dominic, thank you.”
• Yvonne looked at Dominic, expressing her gratitude sincerely.
• She wasn't sure if she was thanking Dominic for treating her father or giving her a ride to work.
• “You're welcome,” Dominic said, then left on the scooter with Yvonne.
• Yvonne sat at the back, feeling the sturdy back of Dominic. Her heart was filled with a sense of warmth.
• At the very least, by hiding behind, she wouldn't be buffeted by the wind.
• This feeling had her somewhat captivated.
• Before long, the two of them arrived at Yvonne's company.
• Along the way, Yvonne had introduced her workplace to Dominic.
• The company she worked for was by no means small, boasting over a hundred employees. They were in the cosmetics business and held quite a reputation in Druobridge.
• Yvonne bid farewell to Dominic and was just about to enter the building when she was stopped by a middle-aged man dressed in a suit.
• “Mr. Zepp, what are you doing?”
• Yvonne furrowed her brows.
• Rowan Zepp was her immediate superior. He was a sleazy middle-aged man who had a knack for sweet-talking and a reputation for frequently flirting with his female coworkers.
• Yvonne had a strong distaste for him.
• “Yvonne, I've been instructed by Mr. Warburton to inform you that you're no longer required to come to work,” Rowan said with smug satisfaction.
• Even though Yvonne was beautiful, Rowan didn't particularly care for her because she did not play along.
• After every successful project, some of his subordinates would always show their respect by giving him a portion of their earnings.
• Even some female employees, in their quest for promotion, were subtly manipulated by him.
• Yvonne, however, wouldn't act in such a way. She would even confront him due to some disagreements.
• He had been displeased with Yvonne for quite some time. So, when he found out that Yvonne had been fired from the company, he couldn't help but revel in her misfortune.
• “What do you mean?” Yvonne raised an eyebrow.
• Dominic, who was about to leave, couldn't help but halt his steps, a slight chill settling in his eyes.
• “Can't you understand? You've been fired,” Rowan said, clearly losing his patience.
• “Why? I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I be fired?” Yvonne's face was filled with anger.
• “You'll have to ask Mr. Warburton about that. It was his decision.”
• Rowan shrugged, putting on an air of helplessness.
• “What about the project I'm in charge of?” Yvonne asked again.
• “The project has already been handed over to someone else,” Rowan said with a sneer.
• Yvonne grew anxious. “No, I need to speak with Mr. Warburton.”
• She was about to go in, but Rowan abruptly shoved her.
• Having been pushed, Yvonne let out a startled cry and was about to fall backward.
• “Ah!”
• In the next moment, Yvonne found herself enveloped in a warm embrace. It was Dominic who had caught her in time.
• “Are you all right?”
• When Yvonne lifted her gaze, she found herself locked in the eyes of Dominic.
• A sparkle resided within those eyes, causing her heart to flutter. Instantly, her pretty face flushed a deep shade of red.
• “I'm fine.”
• She quickly extricated herself from Dominic's embrace and lowered her head, not daring to look at him.
• Dominic didn't seem to care. His gaze turned icy as he looked at Rowan and walked over.
• A jolt of fear struck Rowan's heart when he met Dominic's gaze. He roared, “What do you think you're doing?”
• Without wasting any words, Dominic gave him a slap.
• Rowan was sent sprawling to the ground. One of his teeth was knocked out, and he lay on the floor, wailing in agony.
• “Help, security!”
• The sound of hurried footsteps promptly echoed.
• Two security guards briskly emerged from within, their expressions shifting instantly when they saw the scene before them. Their gaze settled on Dominic.
• “Get him! Quick!” Rowan pointed at Dominic.
• The two security guards did not dare to slow down and lunged at Dominic.
• Unfazed, Dominic launched a kick, sending the two security guards flying backward. They landed on the ground, unable to get up for a while.
• At that moment, a considerable number of people had already gathered around. All of them were employees who had come to work.
• Upon witnessing the scene, they were immediately filled with shock and exclamations echoed around. Their gazes toward Dominic were tinged with a hint of fear.
• This man is truly too violent.
• Dominic didn't pay any mind to the surroundings. He strode toward Rowan, grabbed him by the collar, and hoisted him.
• “Apologize to her!”
• Dominic pointed at Yvonne, his expression indifferent.
• The woman he fancied and cared for the most had been pushed. This made him very angry.
• “Apologize to her? In your dreams! You'd better let me go or you'll surely regret it once our boss finds out.”
• Rowan was a stubborn person. Not only did he refuse to compromise, but he even barked back fiercely.
• “Then I'll wait for your boss to show up!”
• Dominic gave a nod, then slammed him onto the ground.
• Rowan's cheek came into close contact with the ground.
• Blood was spilled everywhere.
• This time, he didn't merely groan but passed out on the spot.
• Yvonne was utterly stunned. She hadn't expected Dominic to be so violent.
• However, witnessing this scene, she felt incredibly exhilarated inside.
• Rowan had been exploiting his connection with their boss, throwing his weight around in the office on a daily basis. She had been fed up with his antics for a long time.
• Many of the onlooking employees felt the same way, wishing they could applaud in delight.
• “Go get your boss!” Dominic said placidly, clapping his hands.
• As soon as the words were spoken, an employee immediately rushed in to call their boss.
• It wasn't long before a middle-aged man, smartly dressed in a suit, emerged from within. Following him was a secretary, her features sweet and pleasant.
• “What's going on here?”
• After he stepped out, the scene before his eyes caused him to furrow his brow.
• A security guard hastily recounted the sequence of events.
• After understanding the whole situation, he looked at Dominic with displeasure. “Did you hit my man?”
• “He dared to lay a hand on Yvonne. This is the price he has to pay,” Dominic said calmly. “So, you're the owner of this company?”
• “My name is Lionel Warburton, and yes, this company is indeed mine. Who might you be?” Lionel asked, his gaze fixed on Dominic.
• “You're not yet worthy to know my name,” Dominic said coldly. “I called you out here to ask you something. What did Yvonne do wrong that she had to be fired?”
