Chapter 2 Rent A Room
- A man who exuded an aura of icy coldness appeared out of nowhere.
- It was none other than Dominic who had arrived just in time.
- He stood tall and strong, one hand gripping Scar's throat as if he was holding a chicken.
- “You...” Scar was shocked and enraged, only managing to utter a single word before Dominic slammed him onto the ground.
- Bang!
- A dull thud echoed, startling everyone present. They watched in horror as Scar's head hit the ground, blood splattering everywhere.
- This wasn't over yet.
- Before Scar could even react, Dominic swiftly lifted his foot, forcefully stomping down on his arm.
- Crack!
- The sound of bones breaking echoed through the air. Dominic had snapped Scar's arm into two.
- It was the same hand that had nearly struck Yvonne moments ago.
- Scar's shriek echoed through the air.
- One of the thugs finally regained his senses.
- He was infuriated upon seeing Scar's arm broken, and they all lunged at Dominic in a fit of rage.
- Dominic lashed out wearing a calm expression.
- In the next moment, that thug let out a horrifying scream and was thrown several meters away.
- He sprawled on the ground and couldn't even get up, wearing a look of utter shock.
- The other thugs exchanged glances, when suddenly, someone yelled out, “This guy's trained! Let's charge together!”
- Whoosh!
- Several thugs simultaneously closed in on Dominic. Swinging clubs, they aimed at Dominic's head.
- “Be careful!” Yvonne yelped in surprise.
- Dominic, remaining calm, made his move.
- Thump! Thud! Bang!
- A few muffled sounds echoed as those thugs were all sent flying by Dominic. They were bleeding from their mouths and noses, crying and wailing in pain.
- All the onlookers were stunned, looking at Dominic as if they were looking at a monster.
- What happened was way too shocking, like a scene straight out of a movie. No one expected this newcomer to be able to take out multiple opponents single-handedly.
- Yvonne was also left stunned.
- She gave the man a quick once-over, swiftly concluding that she didn't recognize him.
- This left her puzzled. Why would he want to help me?
- “Brat, you—” Scar finally regained consciousness. He glared menacingly at Dominic, in disbelief that someone actually dared to hit him. “Do you know who we are? How dare you mess with us! Let me tell you, you've gotten yourself into some trouble!”
- With a smile playing on his lips, Dominic looked at Scar and nonchalantly asked, “Really? How big of a deal was it?”
- As he spoke, he approached Scar.
- “Tell me, just how deep in trouble am I?” Dominic asked, stomping on Scar's chest.
- Scar winced in pain. Despite his fear, he spat out, “Do you know the Sutcliffe family? We work for the son of the Sutcliffe family. He won't let you off easily.”
- “The Sutcliffe family? Never heard of them.” Dominic crouched down, slapping Scar in the face. “I've hit you again, what are you going to do about it?”
- “B*stard! You're definitely going to regret this!” Scar roared in fury.
- He had been in Druobridge for years. No one else aside from Paxton Sutcliffe dared lay a hand on him.
- Now, however, he had been beaten by some brat.
- It was humiliating.
- “I'm going to regret this?”
- Slap!
- Without uttering another word, Dominic delivered another slap.
- Scar spat out a mouthful of blood and fell silent, but he continued glaring at Dominic with resentment.
- “What's the matter? Weren't you rather cocky just now? Where'd all that cockiness go?” Once again, Dominic slapped him across the face.
- Scar didn't even dare to spit out blood this time, and the resentment in his eyes diminished.
- This guy must be crazy. He knows I work for Mr. Paxton, yet he still dares to hit me.
- “Speak up! Tell me, how severe are the consequences now that I've hit you?” Dominic slapped him again.
- Both sides of Scar's face became swollen.
- He felt extremely frustrated, but he didn't dare to utter a word. Clenching his teeth, he said, “Fine. We admit defeat today. What do you want?”
- “It's simple.” With a snap of his fingers, Dominic chuckled and said, “I want each one of you to slap yourselves ten times, apologize to them, and compensate them for the emotional distress you've caused. Otherwise, none of you are leaving here today.”
- He sounded remarkably composed, but the expressions of Scar and his subordinates changed.
- Slap ourselves ten times and apologize to the two women? If words gets out, we'd become laughingstocks!
- “No! Forget it! Don't push your luck!” Scar fumed.
- “If you don't do as I say, I'll ruin you.” Dominic gripped Scar's throat and hoisted him up.
- His gaze was icy cold, and a subtle aura of murderous intent radiated from him, enveloping Scar.
- Fear finally inundated Scar. This surge of murderous intent sent chills down his spine.
- He believed that Dominic would follow through on his words.
- Therefore, he immediately contemplated admitting defeat. He had no choice, for he'd only make things worse if he defied Dominic. It's best to just surrender and find a chance to settle the score later. We can't let this brat and the Litchfields off the hook so easily.
- “Fine, I agree,” he hastily responded.
- Only then did Dominic let him go.
- Following that, Scar and his gang began slapping themselves in the face.
- After ten slaps, everyone's face was grotesquely swollen.
- “Mrs. Litchfield and Ms. Litchfield, we're sorry.”
- After apologizing, Scar produced several thousand and handed it to Yvonne's mother as compensation.
- Although Janet was worried, she felt quite satisfied when she heard Scar apologize.
- Serves them right for tormenting us!
- However, she was uneasy and hesitant to accept the money. Who knows what they'll do to us if we accept the money!
- Scar's expression changed drastically as he pleaded, “Please, I beg you to accept this. I admit my mistakes. Please be the bigger person and forgive me. Spare me, please.”
- Janet hesitated for a moment.
- She glanced again at Dominic, who smiled at her. His smile seemed to bring her a sense of reassurance, which instantly dissolved the fear within her.
- She accepted the money Scar offered.
- “Boss, can we leave now?” Scar asked.
- “Get lost! Remember, if you come again next time, your hand won't be the only thing broken.” Dominic waved his hand dismissively, as if swatting away a fly.
- “Yes, sir.” Scar kept his head low, appearing submissive, but resentment flashed in the depths of his eyes.
- Dominic caught the malice in Scar's eyes and knew they'd surely come back for revenge.
- At that moment, his first thought was to destroy these people.
- However, on second thought, he realized disposing of these minions wouldn't make much of a difference. The mastermind behind them would not let things rest.
- It might be better to let them go and adopt a long term plan, aiming to resolve this matter once and for all.
- With that in mind, Dominic didn't attempt to stop them. He simply let Scar and his gang walk away.
- Once Scar and his gang had left, the onlookers dispersed.
- “Hello. I'm here to rent a room!” After everyone had left, Dominic approached Yvonne and Janet, revealing a radiant smile.
