• Once we got back into town, Ethan picked up a rental car to drive the rest of the way. After half an hour, the buildings began to look familiar, and anxiety churned in my gut as we drew closer. I bit my lip, a habit when stressed.
• "There's nothing to worry about," Ethan reassured me, flashing one of his dimpled grins before turning back to the road. "Sebastian won't get his hands on you, and Jessy is out of the picture. You won't be anywhere near Lauren and Darren either."
• "It's not them I'm worried about," I sighed. "When I ran away, it wasn't just you and Kieran I left behind."
