- "How is this possible?" Sofia murmured, her voice hushed as she pressed a soot-streaked hand to her forehead. Her gaze fell to her clothes, scorched and frayed at the edges. She ran her fingers over the charred hem of her tank top, peering at the smooth, unblemished skin beneath. Her thoughts seemed to tumble out before she could stop them. “How—how did I not burn?”
- “This probably isn’t the best place for answers,” Emiliano interjected, his tone measured but firm. His gaze flicked toward Leonardo, who stood nearby, watching the scene with quiet intensity. “We’ve already got enough witnesses to corroborate tonight’s events. Let’s regroup at Leonardo’s house.”
