• I was back in my room, but this time I was happy to be there, away from Vlad. Everything about him scared me, and the fact that he had so much power over me was scary.
• I chose to push away the memory I had with Vlad; strangely, it wasn't as bad as I thought. When I pictured sex with vampires, I thought about wips, cuffs, and collars; there was none of that, at least not with me. He was as gentle as a vampire prince could ever be, leading me to believe it was some kind of special treatment. I had proved my worth.
