Chapter 6 Nobody Can Take It Away
- Taylor and Regina were having dinner.
- Davian had arrived, and Angela was drugged. She could not escape this time.
- Once Davian was done with her, they could get five million dollars. That money was enough to fill the funding gap for the Quinn Corporation.
- The two raised their wine glasses to celebrate.
- A servant rushed into the room and reported, "Mr. Foster and Mrs. Foster, Ms. Angela... she left with something."
- The smile immediately vanished from Taylor’s face, and he chided, "What the hell?"
- He angrily put down the glass and glanced at Regina, asking, "What's going on? Didn't you tell me that you had drugged her? How could she?"
- Regina looked dejected.
- This is impossible! How could she escape? She can't escape from my grip!
- Regina was unsettled as she walked out of the house. She stumbled across Angela.
- The young woman was humming a tune, gracefully holding a small box in her arms, and on her way to leave the villa.
- Regina called out to her, "Angela!"
- "Aunty Regina, what’s up?"
- Regina had blocked her path and forced her to stop at her track.
- Her stepdaughter looked calm, and her attire was tidy, there was no sign of her being violated.
- Regina was at a loss for words.
- Angela smiled innocently, but that smile stopped short before her eyes. She said, "Aunty Regina, do you want to ask why nothing happened to me?"
- Her expression gave Regina a creepy sensation, but she quickly calmed herself down. She threatened sinisterly, "Since you have the nerve to come here tonight, I won't let you off the hook easily!"
- Regina beckoned her hands to the bodyguards standing not far away. She commanded, "Get her!"
- The bodyguards were about to step forward.
- At this time, a fat old man ran from the backyard and muttered, "Oh my god! It’s cold! I'm freezing!"
- Davian wrapped himself in a thick winter coat, it was Angela's coat from the warehouse. He looked like a clown.
- Angela could not contain her laughter.
- The bodyguards struggled to suppress their laughter too.
- Regina's expression looked grave.
- Davian looked like a fool. He was yelling like a madman, "Why is it so cold? Ahchoo... Why are you all standing there? Give me a blanket!"
- The siren of the ambulance was heard from the house entrance.
- Several paramedics quickly exited the ambulance and locked their eyes on Davian.
- It was thirty degrees outside, but that man wrapped himself in layers of clothes.
- They took him away as a patient with a mental illness.
- This scene was caught by the paparazzi waiting outside the door, they snapped pictures of Davian incessantly.
- This news quickly made the headlines.
- "Banking tycoon Davian Gentry is suspected of making a scene due to mental illness. Capital Bank Group's share price plummeted. "
- Taylor and Regina were astounded by the progress of the events, and they dared not reach out to Davian.
- Angela stood before her father, displaying traces of indifference and defiance. She stated, "Dad, I won't move out of this house. Have you forgotten that this house belonged to my grandpa? If you want to renounce our relationship, please take your mistress and get out of this house."
- Angela stood upright. It was nighttime, and her icy face was lit up with confidence.
- Taylor came back to his senses. He raised his hand to slap Angela hard. He hesitated, "You ungrateful girl! What nonsense are you talking about?"
- An arm stopped his slap in mid-air. When he raised his head, he met the cold eyes of a handsome man.
- Taylor trembled all over with his stare and exclaimed, "It's you, the lover boy!"
- Angela was surprised when she saw Maxwell.
- Why is he here? Isn’t he supposed to go out to have dinner with the 100 dollars I gave him? My dad calls him a lover boy?
- The look in Maxwell's eyes turned icier. He clenched his hand a little, and Taylor felt as if his hand was about to break.
- Taylor cried out, "Urgh! It hurts."
- The bodyguards were still in their trance when Regina angrily yelled at them, "Guards! Why aren't any of you coming over to pull them apart?"
- Those bodyguards had taken a good beating from Maxwell yesterday. None of them dared to make a move.
- After a while, Maxwell finally let go of Taylor.
- The old man almost collapsed on the ground.
- Maxwell glanced at the small box in Angela's arms and asked with a frown, "Is this all your staff?"
- She had lived here for twenty years, yet she had so few things.
- Angela reassured, "Don't worry, I will be back."
- Regina watched as the two left. She recalled what Angela mentioned, and a sense of unease crept over her. She questioned, "Tallie, she’s telling the truth, isn’t she? Does this house belong to Byron Quinn's?"
- Taylor squinted his eyes and explained, "This house was given to Skyla by her father. Although they had agreed that if Skyla died, the property would go back to Byron, Skyla had transferred the property to me before she died!"
- Both Waterfront Villa and Quinn Corporation belonged to me! Nobody can take them away from me!
- At the villa entrance, Angela watched as Maxwell naturally took the box from her and put it in the back seat of the Porsche.
- The Quinns had always been a wealthy family, naturally, they owned many luxury cars. Angela knew that the car in front of her was a Porsche 718 and worth millions.
- There was a familiar figure leaning on the car. It was the man who pointed a gun at her three days ago and threatened her not to take Maxwell to the hospital.
- He wore a suit and looked very formal, giving the impression of being an office worker.
- When Angela saw him, she felt a twinge of fear. She asked, "Are you Maxwell's friend?"
- Zach Harmon froze with this query and subconsciously looked at his boss.
- He just found out that the two had married. His boss even pretended to be an ordinary man and hid his identity. He wonders, What was his disguise at this time?
- "Yes, a friend of mine. Drive now," Maxwell answered indifferently.
- Zach hurriedly sat behind the wheel and said, "Certainly, Mr. M..."
- The words slipped out of Zach’s mouth and were interrupted by Maxwell's cold gaze. He stammered, "Okay, M...Maxwell."
- Zach was unaccustomed to treating his boss like a buddy.
- Angela was displeased with Maxwell's commanding tone.
- They are friends, why did he look down on his friends?
- Angela casually asked, "Are you two really friends?"
- Zach froze. He wondered, Is my acting so bad that I gave it away as soon as I got into character?
- Maxwell still wore his usual indifferent and composed demeanor. He lifted his eyebrows and asked, "If he's not my friend, do you think I'm his boss?"
- This rhetorical question made Angelique laugh out loud.
- If this guy is Zach’s boss, then I’ll be the chairman!
- Zach had broken out in a sweat in the driver's seat. If he was busted, he would probably get fired. He let out a sigh of relief when Angela stopped pursuing this matter.
- She turned on her phone and browsed Davian’s gossip online. Her college mate was really something. Within thirty minutes, he had hyped the news about Davian falling into a state of madness to the top of the search trends.
- Moreover, she filmed a video at the house entrance just now and uploaded it online. Every time she saw Davian's pathetic and ridiculous state, she felt pleased and cracked up with laughter.
- Maxwell's gaze fell on her charming face. His mood seemed to improve with her laughter.
- He knew what she had done just now. Her tactics were beyond his expectations.
