Chapter 3 I Won't Regret It

  • Maxwell's handsome face approached Angela.
  • Angela bit her lips. What he said made sense, but she had not gotten used to it for a while.
  • She was married, and Maxwell was her husband.
  • "I don't need a salary, but I don't plan on a cooperative marriage. I'll work for you for free, but I want you."
  • Maxwell's voice was hoarse and somewhat magnetic. Angela felt her heart flutter.
  • He could see that she only wanted cooperative marriage.
  • "I..."
  • "I'm notifying you. You have no right to refuse."
  • Angela only realized that Maxwell was overbearing, but she could accept it.
  • They went back to the medical center. As soon as they got to the door, there were waves of smashing sounds and Taylor's roar.
  • "Smash this place! Burn all the herbs!"
  • Angela's expression changed drastically. She wanted to run in, but Maxwell stopped her.
  • "Wait here." Before Angela could react, Maxwell had already strode inside.
  • In Angela's view, Maxwell was a vulnerable toy boy because of his injuries.
  • However, five minutes later, Angela completely overturned the perception when she looked at the several gangsters who fell to the ground and could not fight back against Maxwell.
  • Taylor was arrogant at first, but now seeing the situation, he was angrier. "A bunch of trash!"
  • He glared at Maxwell, picked up a chair, and threw it at Maxwell's head.
  • Angela came to her senses and rushed over immediately. But Maxwell was ready. He blocked the chair and grabbed Angela's wrist.
  • As the sneak attack failed, Taylor glared at Maxwell but was shocked by Maxwell's cold gaze.
  • "Who are you? I came to take my daughter home!" Taylor yelled while pointing at Maxwell.
  • Maxwell narrowed his eyes coldly. His dangerous aura was so intimidating that even Angela was a little scared.
  • Meanwhile, she saw the wound on Maxwell's arm bleed and quickly grabbed his hand. "Honey, stop fighting."
  • The blood on Maxwell's hands shocked her. Angela turned pale, grabbed Maxwell, and stood in front of him.
  • Maxwell stared at her thoughtfully.
  • "Dad, he's my husband. We're married!" Angela took out her marriage certificate and threw it on Taylor's face.
  • If Taylor still dared to force her, she would sue him!
  • Taylor picked up the marriage certificate angrily. He thought Angela was fooling him on the phone, but he did not expect she would dare to get married today!
  • He was furious. Seeing that ten million was about gone, he wanted to hit Maxwell and Angela!
  • "Get up! Beat this toy boy up!" Taylor yelled at those gangsters, but they did not have the guts to fight Maxwell. Although Taylor paid them, they did not want to die!
  • Seeing that no one dared to hit Maxwell, Taylor had nowhere to vent his anger, so he could only point at Angela and threaten, "If you still want to go home, go get a divorce right now!"
  • Angela was calm. Seeing Taylor's ugly appearance for money, she became more disappointed.
  • Apart from her seriously ill grandpa, her father was her only relative. Without Taylor, she would be alone.
  • Angela hated Taylor, but she always had hope in him.
  • While Skyla was still around, they lived happily, but since Skyla passed away a year ago, Taylor had brought in his lover and illegitimate daughter.
  • Everything had changed.
  • Seeing Angela's hesitation, Maxwell looked cold and said, "You can still regret it."
  • Angela looked at him in surprise, but her expression became decisive. "I won't."
  • She looked at Taylor, "Dad, I won't go home if you don't accept my husband."
  • "You rebellious girl! Just wait and see!"
  • Taylor had no other choice. He took the gangsters away unwillingly. He believed Angela could never get out of his control.
  • The surroundings quieted down. Angela seemed to have exhausted all her strength. Her eyes were red, and she was about to fall to the ground.
  • Maxwell held Angela firmly, and the blood on his arm stained her clothes. She returned to her senses, asked Maxwell to sit down, and treated his wound.
  • "It seems that you're very reluctant to marry me." Maxwell reached out his uninjured hand and lifted her chin.
  • Angela's eyes were reddish, and she wanted to dodge him, but Maxwell was so strong that she could not resist him.
  • "I said it. I won't regret it."
  • Maxwell pondered. Angela had affection for Taylor, but Taylor only used her, just like his father. His father used him since he was a child and even poisoned him to control him.
  • A hint of hatred flashed in his eyes, and gradually, Maxwell looked gentle.
  • "You don't need to go home. I'll be your family." Although his voice was cold, it sounded nice.
  • Angela did not know how sincere he was, but Maxwell shocked her too much. Even though he was injured, he still stood up for her.
  • "Of course. Since we're married, we're a family," Angela said unnaturally.
  • She had never said sweet words, and she could not help but blush. She did not know that her reaction made Maxwell excited.
  • He held her face and smiled lazily. "Hey, call me honey again."
  • Angela blushed again. It was to refute Taylor that she deliberately called Maxwell honey. Now there were only the two of them. She would not call him intimately again!
  • She glared at Maxwell and refused, "Never!"
  • Maxwell did not continue teasing Angela. After she helped him apply for the medicine, his expression became ugly. Angela soon found it out. She did not use stimulating medicine, but Maxwell's face was sweaty.
  • Although he tried to restrain himself, she could still tell he must be in pain.
  • "I already added some painkillers. Does it still hurt?" Angela asked in confusion.
  • Maxwell frowned, and his gaze suddenly became sharp and frightening.
  • Angela choked. Why is his emotion so unpredictable? Did I say something wrong?
  • "No," Maxwell said coldly.
  • "If it hurts, I'll prescribe you a painkiller." Angela did not believe his words.
  • As soon as she turned around, Maxwell grabbed her wrist. "It's useless. I grew up feeling more pain than anyone else."
