- The sharp sting in my wrists and ankles burned with every second as I strained against the ropes tying me to the chair. Alfredo’s voice filled the silence in the basement as he hummed to himself. He was pacing and wiping his knife with a piece of cloth glinting under the dim, flickering light. The metallic tangy taste of my blood from the earlier jabs and cuts he’d delivered reminded me of his control. I glared at him, trying to keep my breathing steady.
- The stupid medicine he injected in me was wearing off. I needed to think of how to get out of this shithole.
